I've heard many times people ask before a conversation, "Can I call you Bill, or Jean, or Sue," to be polite

That is strange, I did not know they could do that. We had a contract for 12 months at $25 for introductory internet and that was all that ever came out of my bank account. For 2 years. Then after talking on the phone to various people at Xfinity for about a week, it went up to $30 and so far that is all that comes out of my bank account. Do they give you warning about new fees first?

Another thing I noticed that Xfinity has promoters call you with real deals. This happens about once a year. I missed out on a genuine offer because I thought it was scam. The offer is about half price for their regular service for 12 months.

Whenever anybody subscribes for cable from a cable company for cable TV. They think they’re getting a deal. But usually the deal they think they got always has a catch to it, always. Sooner or later they’ll get more money out of you. The best deal out there is a $50. antenna. You may only get 40 or 50 channels, but you’ll never get a price increase. I don’t have a problem with mine yet, but not saying I won’t, but mine is free with Frontier & I’ve been with them for 2 1/2 yrs.

Some years back, I was holding a door open for a woman at some store. She rather frostily told me "I can open my own doors--thank you". So I closed it, which judging by the look on her face got her even more irritated. |

Ditched big cable bills for a Firestick from Amazon. Use Xfinity only for internet and cable access to 3 TVs. Pay $65/mo and have more access to shows than when I paid over $200/month. I can access special sports programs and premium channels. I can watch news from our former hometowns of Houston and Cleveland. Fortunately I have a sister who is a wizard at this stuff. There are several folks in TV who can set it up for you. If you are on Nextdoor you can search for them. Great for those on a limited budget!

The price increases after your 2 year contract expires. But, if you visit the store in person before the agreement expires, you can initiate another 2 year agreement at the same or lower price. A lot of customers notice an increase in their monthly bill when the agreement expires and they assume that Xfinity increased the price. But, it is usually a result of the 2 year agreement discounts expiring and being removed and converting to a month-by-month rate. It is important to mark on your calendar when the agreement expires and to set up another one in advance.
