I'm sure there were many bars in Florida that never made their customers practice social distancing and never controlled seating arrangements forcing the closure. I've passed by a couple of these very same bars in the villages. They just had to go and shoot themselves in the foot and ruin it for the places that would have opened otherwise. I was surprised it took this long.

To clarify.....if a restaurant or bar’s revenue is more than 50% from the sale of alcohol then they are shut down.

Not to be nit picky, but, as I read the executive order, if I own a restaurant with more than 50 percent revenue from alcohol, I don't need to shut down. I can just reduce the amount of alcohol or the price, so that my alcohol sales are below 50 percent. Wouldn't that be better than shutting down my entire business?

It would be funny if not so darn ridiculous. Alcohol kills the virus, therefore drink lots of it to sanitize your insides, out. Just plain common sense....

Everyone knows that the spike is attributed to all the crowding during the protests. But, it is not PC to say it in public, because it might offend someone and the politicians will lose their votes.

I was at a restaurant last night that had the bar area roped off. Still serving alcohol at tables. The waiters had masks and gloves. Every other booth was roped off and tables were at least 6 ft apart.

I suspect that someone will call the department of health one of these days and let them make the decision if it is a bar or not. I don't drink so not an issue for me but I know some that consider selling alcohol an "essential" business.

This business of forcing our businesses to close down shop and making law abiding citizens feel like heartless criminals for going to the gym or getting a haircut is ridiculous. I believe that the experts have stated that Covid-19 is far less deadly than originally feared. Why on earth are we still treating it like the plague? I guess I'm just over this whole thing and have been for awhile. It's really disappointing to see these restrictions coming back. I hate it.

We are treating it like a Plague because it is one. S.Korea is back playing baseball. Things are MORE normal in New Zealand and Europe because THEY have good health care and reacted better. Perhaps "looking for blame in all the wrong places"?

What about bars with outdoor seating. Are the customers allowed to sit outside? I haven't been to a bar in what seems like forever so I really don't know how they are enforcing this or why they are singling out bars for these types of restrictions. Stand outside and drink it? How preposterous, learn some etiquette. Get in your car, turn on some good music, get on 75, do about 90 and enjoy your cocktail. Everybody knows that.

Really you need to look at statistics . There have only been 7 cases in the villages during the latest out break one from a golf club worker, on at Rohan and non that I have read were from a bar. However if you would read 67% of the latest Florida cases were people under 30. So read more and criticize less

Every post of yours that I have read are laced with common sense. However, in this case, I'm guessing that you're forgetting It might mean the end for the small business owner trying to put bread on the table for his family … after paying his landlord each month for the privilege to stay closed. How is anyone in authority (ignoring Constitutional implications) able to pick and choose which businesses are permitted to make a living; social distancing, or whatever else is required, should be universal for all, without favoritism shown! In my opinion, this edict, ultimately, is ripe for a class action suit and I hope it happens.
