So you conformed to that other poster's idea.

Because, you conform, automatically. It's just what you do.

Like if someone said "hey let's show proof that we're vaccinated!" you'll conform.

Or if someone said, "hey let's overturn the government and storm the capitol and try to kill the VP" you'd conform.

Because someone else said it/did it/posted it first.

Believe that if you wish but every vaccinated person is being tracked by the local health dept with their name and identifying info along with the type of vaccine, dates administered, and batch numbers. I never said it was a bad thing, just that it’s a real thing as all vaccinated people are part of the ongoing clinical research.

Other than your name, what other "identifying" info did they get about you?

So then you have nothing but your assertion.

Since I didn't get my vaccination locally, I'm pretty sure the Sumter County Health Dept. has no information on me. Of course, I can't know that absolutely, but I know enough about how Govt works to feel safe with my statement.

Confirmation bias is real; I can find any number of articles that say so.

They have all the information that you placed on the form that you filled out to include your name, date of birth, address, phone # along with your vaccination dates/type/batch number which is all in their database computer system. I’m not saying it’s a bad thing, but I am saying that it’s a fact that the local health dept in the area where you get vaccinated has all of this information.

Why wouldn’t you think that your info isn’t being tracked by the local health dept? They obtain the vaccines which they give out to different places and all of your information that you provided to obtain the vaccine wherever you received it was put into a database. If there is an issue with the batch of the vaccine that you obtained don’t be surprised to get a call or letter from the health department. All vaccination doses are accounted for as well as their recipients by the health dept. Give the local health department where you got your vaccine a call and ask them about getting another vaccination card if yours is lost. Sumter County can provide that for you if you were vaccinated in that county. Once again, not saying it’s wrong to track people with their vaccines, as there’s a good reason to do that as part of the ongoing study.

Viable? I don't think so. No, more like snarky.

People should take a photo of their vaccine card and then send that photo to their email account. Then put it into their SAVED file for future use. This is just good insurance in case you lose the card.

Think again...

My response? It was most certainly snarky...

Please point out the snark in the post I initially responded to...

"To (sic) easy to loose a card so maybe a special tattoo or mark will do in future with all records available."

Instead of the long drive to Orlando you could fly out of the Leesburg Airport just minutes away from The Villages.
Where can one go to learn more about this organization?

The HIPAA law does not apply here. Any business can ask for your vaccination status, including your employer (except in FL where Gov DeSantis has made it illegal). And not only businesses. Schools can also ask for your vaccination status and can restrict entry based on it.

These are the businesses that have to follow HIPAA rules about your health information. This is per the government HIPAA website.

Your Rights Under HIPAA | HHS.gov

Covered entities include:

Health Plans, including health insurance companies, HMOs, company health plans, and certain government programs that pay for health care, such as Medicare and Medicaid.
Most Health Care Providers—those that conduct certain business electronically, such as electronically billing your health insurance—including most doctors, clinics, hospitals, psychologists, chiropractors, nursing homes, pharmacies, and dentists.
Health Care Clearinghouses—entities that process nonstandard health information they receive from another entity into a standard (i.e., standard electronic format or data content), or vice versa.
In addition, business associates of covered entities must follow parts of the HIPAA regulations.

My problem is with the word "tracked" which, to me, implies an active, ongoing process to monitor me. I do not believe there is any active monitoring happening.

Is there a database somewhere linking the vaccine batch number with my name? Probably, and I expect the same for other vaccinations I have had. Is the Covid database with my name in Sumter County? Doubtful. I wouldn't know where to start to request a new card... I might just look into that.
