Default The nba players share 50/50

In profits with ownership These thugs as you call them are mostly family men who invest much time and money in there communities. The laughable idea calling for a boycott of Nike while complaining of a boycott of a game is interesting , yes let’s all deprive people of jobs because you don’t like the idea of men expressing there outrage at injustices But once again in the real world public opinion is on there side and not on the side of people blind or don’t care about the changes that are coming and all for the better . Yes some of the street chaos is troubling, but this will pass and good things will take there place . I also know that when some use the word thug in there thread I know what you really mean and it makes me sad . Oh and just broke the Nike boycott, just received yesterday my new Nike vapor max sneakers $230 and 2 pair of yoga pants at 81 the best sneaker I ever had , try them you’ll like them lol

OK to the FEW people affected by, let's say, a murder or armed robbery by a Blue collar criminal, their FEW lives are affected HUGELY, intensely. I was NOT talking about the INTENSITY of a crime. I talked about which crime affected SOCIETY as a whole - millions of people - affected by losing their wealth, not their lives. Bernie Madoff did not directly kill any person ( some of his victims may have committed suicide) but he affected the lives of thousands. That affected SOCIETY greatly. I stand by my statement that White-collar crime affects SOCIETY more. Yes, an armed robbery is more intense and more obvious. I wanted to show that White-collar crime has a much lower profile than most people think. It affects SOCIETY greatly. Another downside about it is that White-collar criminals are harder to catch and convict, thus causing MORE problems for SOCIETY. They are embedded, borrowing in deep to hurt SOCIETY. Few victems get killed by them but they affect life for many more people. Less intensity but a GREATER problem. I can see why some might disagree with me. You can look at White-collar crime vrs Blue-collar crime from different perspectives, like almost everything - ying and yang.

Agreed. The US is "on fire" both figuratively and literally for racism, which we are discussing, and for CV. Fires in California caused by Global Warming are also a current problem for the US.

(5) The racist BLM movement is CREATING more racists, in America, than any organization has done before.
Very well stated and factual.

Now regarding your claim that whites criminals are killed in greater numbers than black criminals, I'm sure that you have researched that, so I won't argue the point, except to say, that white population in the U.S. is around 61%, compared to 13% of black. It only goes to figure that white criminals are killed in greater numbers, wouldn't you think?
I think that summarized the situation and completely proved your point with 28 years of experience. Thank you for your service to this country. I feel safer living in TV Land because of the reasonable people living here. I hope reason outnunbers ALL racist prejudice against ALL people, like this example fleshed out by the NBA.

Thanks for putting this out there. Pretty pathetic how many uninformed (and what appears to be racist) people there are. Professional sports franchises and athletes do so much for their communities, aside from the hundreds of millions they contribute. Do some research before making these racial comments. Start with Magic Johnson, Serena Williams, Drew Brees, JJ Watt, Tiger Woods, Russell Wilson, Roger Federer and hundreds more.......and see what they are doing. Just because this doesn't make headlines doesn't mean these generous contributors don't exist. If you still feel this way after doing some research, simply turn off the tv. If your perspective has changed, I challenge you to repost what you've learned.

Believe you have at least one of your so called "facts" wrong. I do believe they base the salary cap in the nba at 50% of expected revenue which of course is not the same as profits.

A lot of these family men are guys who do not stay with their wives of their children leaving the women to raise the children in one parent homes with rather bad results.

NY Jets had a receiver some years ago who boasted that he had 8 children with 8 different women. How is that for a role model.

Excellent point and many black athletes do more than their share. Marcus Stroman work's with and outfits little league teams in need of gear and unis. Mookie Betts helps feed the homeless. LeBron James built a damned school in Akron for under privileged youth. Mo Vaughn who is retired helps kids get an education and built affordable low cost apartments. Lawrence Guy of the Patriots recently donated a week's worth of food to 1300 families with children who would have gone hungry.

These "hood rats" and "thugs" put their money where their mouth is.

What do some of you do?

Glad to hear the athletes are helping out. But when they don’t play they should just be fired. That’s what would happen in any other job. The fact that I’d like to see a game, their skill in playing, does not give them permission to try to push their agenda in my face. And this includes anything, religion, politics etc.

So glad to hear that I'm not the only one that could care less if these over paid players that don't like our flag, play again.

You cite a few players who help out less fortunate but wonder if most do the same?

We also contribute to a number of what we feel are worthwhile charities

Just so I know who you are in public would you please where either a "if it's white it's right" tee shirt/hat or your hood and robe.

For you torch carriers beware today is "Jackie Robinson Day" in baseball. You may want to look away there will be lots of colored folk.
Reading all of the outright racist comments (and the usual racist code words and dog-whistles) in the various threads, has certainly been eye-opening. We're hoping this isn't a true representation of the majority of The Villages and that a lot of good people are simply being quiet and avoiding controversy. Then again, that is exactly why this country is in the situation it currently finds itself. I want to believe most people are good and it's time for them to stand up and be heard.
