In Newsbreak for today, I found a list of Fl. cities for CV. heading the list at 31,633 total cases/ 100,000 is the Miami area. The Villages is listed last out of about 40 at about 1/2 the cases or 14064/100,000 people. THAT is good! BUT, BIG BUT......The Villages is HIGHER than 50% of the cities for total DEATHS /100,000 at 14,064. Please check that out for yourself.
......The most likely reason for the LARGER rate of deaths than cases for The Villages in the Fl list IS that Villagers are an
OLDER population than other Fl cities. (our Hospitals can NOT be THAT bad).

Not according to our own Doctor.....DR. Blue Ash! He said that the chances that a positive test is FALSE happens in about 2% of the tests. Now a negative rapid test IS false so many times as to be NOT useful information.

That IS NOT possible right now! Portugal has an over 95% vaccination rate. I imagine that they are living their lives to the fullest and are happy! And their Hospitals are fulfilling THEIR society's medical and health needs. In the US some states have some hospitals that are in CRISIS standard of care (as in do NOT resusitate)!

I believe that Portugal has about 0.03% the population of the U.S. Correct me if I am wrong, but that is hardly a comparison. We have states of the same population size and they have almost the same vaccination rate, give or take.

The reason you hear more about Covid is that Covid is killing nearly 20 times as many people. Many of today’s deaths are preventable with a simple shot.

The Villagers are OLDER than the US general population, so they have more BAD hospitalizations and more deaths. So, it is only natural that they are MORE worried and MORE interested in CV facts and the NEWEST information. Why begrudge someone their life-saving information found on their local forum. Those that are invulnerable and NOT in need of CV info and facts can easily scan RIGHT BY the CV threads!

That .03 OF ONE PERCENT population comparison seems TOO low. But, my main point was that the US COULD (?) have been in a CV happy place if it was not for anti-vaxxers and conspiracy mongers.

But, don’t we have enough vaccine for everyone in the US? It is only a degree of scale to compare to Portugal. As an elementary teacher I remember some immigrant fishing village Portuguese parent marking the report card with an “x” because they could not write their name. Yet, I would venture, they are not any less “intelligent” than we are.

Cruise ships require 100% of their crew and passengers to be vaccinated, yet the rate of Covid positives on cruise ships is comparable to the general population in the US. Explain how vaccines are effective…
FYI, that statistic was promoted by the cruise industry to show that cruising was safe…

Here’s an even better example of vaccine effectiveness. You used Portugal as an example. You stated they have a 95% vaccination rate. Yet, based on today’s numbers, their Covid per capita infection rate is 2X the rate of Americans…

Stop testing healthy people! Cases mean nothing only sicknesses and deaths. The real tragedy is that after two years hospitals offer no therapeutics. The State of Florida offers monoclonal treatments. Shame on the FDA and the CDC!

It just seems like it’s no better. My wife & I are very fortunate, we haven’t gotten Covid or had any symptoms of it. We’re up to date on our shots but don’t always where mask but we do try very hard to get to close to other people!

There are 50 States with approx 100 million people unvaccinated and sick exactly how many therapeutics is there available does Florida get it all?
Or are you talking about Ivermectin is FDA-approved for use in animals for prevention of heartworm disease in some small animal species, and for treatment of certain internal and external parasites in various animal species.
