Default AAA Auto Club for Towing Member's Golf Carts

Villages Golf Carts will service carts that don't come from them. HOWEVER - during snowbird season, they might make you wait a few weeks for your appointment because customers with carts from them, get priority appointments and the season is very busy. They also don't offer towing service for carts that didn't come from them, you'd have to find another way of getting it there.

So that's a down-side, for sure. On the other hand, you don't have to get a cart serviced somewhere other than your own driveway - there are several golf cart mechanics who will come to you.
The Auto Club (not the insurance company) provides services for member's golf carts that have broken down, the same as it does for member's automobiles. This includes gas delivery, jump starts for dead batteries and towing. For carts with flat tires, it will not change the tire as carts do not have spares and the service truck does not carry wheels or tires. In that case, the Club will put your cart on a trailer and take it to your house or a dealership. I expect that many readers will be as surprised to learn this as I was when I read a brochure last week at the AAA office when I renewed our homeowner's/auto insurance. There are three levels of membership in the Auto Club. Make sure that your membership includes golf carts.

When I moved here eight years ago, I shopped the Villages store as well as its competitor on 466. Ended up buying a year-old, super-tricked out cart privately from another Villager --- beautiful, every bell and whistle. The seller was desperate for a Yesteryear model and gave me an irresistible price.
I owned it for six months and quickly realized it is nothing more than a glorified rollerskate --- no airbags, little protection in a sea of good and bad drivers, drunks and even kids behind the wheel visiting grandparents.
So I sold it and have no regrets.
Be clear-headed when you move here...if you're a golfer, go ahead and buy one. Otherwise, remember that this is a community more than 30 miles long and growing. Do you really want to putter around in a vehicle that only goes 18 miles per hour?

20 miles north to south. Will likely grow south of 470 but not yet.

20mph (though many go a bit faster than that)

Yes, I really want to go everywhere I can by golf cart.

You are correct, but with one major exception. They will provide the service if you are on a public road, but not if you are on a MMP or golf course.

Not sure where you live, but be aware that that the Villages has grown so large they decided they can’t realistically serve the whole community. Their message states that they aren’t taking any new customers south of 44.
