NOTHING but Happy Mother's Day today. My Mom has been reading my older brother's new book to my Dad and it sounds very gory. I will read it after John Sandford's Neon Prey which I am still busy with. But I am getting an idea about what it is like. Then I will hand Neon Prey over so that my Mom can read it to my Dad. They go through a book every three days or so.

Tal, that is so sweet. When my aunt and uncle lived in London for 12+ years, she was working full-time because he ended up becoming very ill. They were both musicians and intellectuals and enjoyed reading, writing, and of course music. She told me they spent a lot of their spare time together where she would read to him. Knowing them, they would probably read and discuss, learning from each other in the process. He was a brilliant man and very worldly.
I always thought how much I would love to do the same with my husband but I don't know if I could get him to sit that long without him falling asleep. :ohdear: Seems like NOTHING but an intimate and even romantic way to share some time together.......a true expression of love and enjoyment of one another's company. Maybe I see it that way because I don't think I ever knew a couple more in love and devoted to one another than my aunt and uncle.
Thank you so much for the Mother's Day wishes and the great memories that you just gave me. I wish NOTHING but the same to your mother today.
