What's On | American Conservatory Theater

Recall going to a few plays in San Francisco but it was kind of hard to do it and also get to work in Belmont, CA where I abstracted regional business magazines and indexed newspapers and various other publications at Information Access Company. 1981-1990 Seasons | American Conservatory Theater

Really loved the people there at IAC even if the pay was next to NOTHING. This was in 1984-1986 even if I spent a lot of time interviewing at various libraries around the country trying to get a toe hold into librarianship and use my skills gathered from the librarianship MA program at the University of Denver.

I thought about it and gave $6.13 to their Legal Clinics. I would often give them $12.24 or $6.13 and would sometimes get Thank You calls from U of MN Law School students who seemed to find the amounts very amusing.

I graduated in 1989.

I did really enjoy the people and work at the Legal Assistance to Minnesota Prisoners where I was a Student and then Student Co-Director attached to Minnesota Correctional Facility--Stillwater.

Nothing but amusing.

Had gone to the AALL Meeting in Reno, Nevada in 1989 just after graduating from the U of MN Law School that May and took a little break to walk around Reno and went to the 3rd Indiana Jones movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade - Wikipedia where one of my Philosophy Professors was coming out of the theater and I had seen another at the Hotel/Casino--

Had called the man I had been working with at the Bower's Mansion from Bally's. My last day with them had been Memorial Day of 1983 when the mudslide had occurred near there at Davis Creek. Just wanted to let him know that I had gotten through law school as well as earlier through the graduate librarianship program at the U of Denver. And had worked at various libraries. The first Indiana Jones movie Raiders of the Lost Ark - Wikipedia came out in the Summer of 1981 and not for NOTHING.

I had picked up a fellow University of Nevada Reno Philosophy student Tom and we went. He had just recently been stabbed a number of times in the back and had been "dead" for a few minutes. This had been because he had tried to pick up a married woman in front of her husband in a bar. And he did not remember anything from the time when he flatlined.

When Indiana Jones faced off with the man with the sword I had been mortified that Tom's memories would cause a problem but he found the scene and the movie hilarious.

The Philosophy Department at UNR was upset when attempted murderer got off quite lightly due to a heat of the moment defense by the defense lawyer.

I had tried to find out what had become of Tom through a Reno, Nevada Facebook group and as soon as I had described Tom and his ways up pops his ex-wife whom I had not known he even had.

Tom would often invite me to various antics in downtown Reno which I invariably turned down. Not seeing the first Indiana Jones movie though.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom - Wikipedia

Saw the 2nd Indiana Jones movie in Denver with a then U of Denver Chinese-American Graduate Student in Librarianship. I had graduated around May of 1984 from that program. She crushed my hand a bit while watching some of the movie's more thrilling parts.

Met up with her in Northern California at times after I moved there in the late Summer of 1984.

She had a husband- to- be in the wings so we were just friends and not for NOTHING. He had been rewriting screenplays for various TV shows trying to get into that business.

Funny thing. I took a train from around Redwood City, CA to Los Angeles, CA and walked a ways to an interview in a Los Angeles area public library and they were getting ready to film a scene for the show T.J. Hooker. The set was ready but the people were not there yet so I got to check it out. No Heather Locklear nor William Shatner around. T. J. Hooker - Wikipedia
