Perfect score.
How come I remember all that stuff, but forgot what I had for breakfast?

Older than dirt.

On the other hand, please let me know when we're all getting together for trivia and fondue and Mateus!

Never did do anything with all those bottles.

Tony, we need a wino icon.
Whalen,

I knew every answer on the geezer quiz, but I could not remember what those wine bottles looked like. And so I did a little research. We were certainly a sophisticated bunch. "Hey-Hey-Hey-Hey, Mateus Rose."

This thread gives me the opportunity to ask a question that has been nagging me for years. Is "old geezer" redundant?????

George, it sure is.

And now, here's a question that has been bothering me...

Can women be geezers? It does not sound right to me. Maybe we are geezerettes or geezerellas or geezettes or geezeritas. I wish I knew.

I vote for geezeritas! Good word, Boomer!
And not to get sidetracked, but this was sooooo funny. Babygirl went to Portugal for scuba diving. When she came home she was so excited about a very nice wine they 'discovered' -- you guessed it -- Mateus! Hahahaha. She thought they discovered an obscure Portuguese wine. I almost hated to tell her that EVERYBODY my age drank Mateus in college. Hey-hey-hey....
Geezer wine.

I'm with ya on geezeritas! However, I say "old geezer" isn't redundant, because geezer can also mean eccentric.

Pass the Mateus, please.

Default You might be a geezer if...

You May Be a Grumpy Old Man, or Grumpy Old Woman if...

The last time you purchased a record, Neil Diamond was at the top of the charts.

You still own an 8-track player and cassettes (ABBA, Floyd Kramer, and Roger Whittaker feature prominently).

You have 78rpm records which you occasionally play on your massive oak hi-fi.

There’s a 1970s vintage Hammond electric organ somewhere in your house.

Most of your reading material resides in the bathroom, where you spend a goodly portion of your day.

There’s nothing you want for Christmas. When pressed you ask for a sweater. Which you then put in a drawer, never to see the light of day again.

You flip constantly between CNN (or some other news channel), TSN, and the Weather Network, but never actually watch any shows all the way through.

You frequently find yourself shouting at the television when the aforementioned programmes are on.

You read at least two newspapers a day, and can’t rest until you’ve finished them.

Whenever you go to the movies, you end up muttering (loudly), “This is a load of CRAP! That would never happen!” within 15 minutes of the film starting.

You start wearing your winter coat the instant the temperature outside hits 15C/60F, and tut at the youngsters still walking around in shorts and t-shirts.

You own a pair of comfy beige shoes or sandals. Which you wear with white tube socks.

You own an original Walkman from the 1980s and refuse to buy new music because you can’t get cassettes. So you listen to The Carpenters and your Sound of Music soundtrack, over and over.

You insist on paying for purchases with exact change.

You own a Laz-E-Boy recliner that’s seen better days.

You have animated, absorbing conversations with your friends that focus solely on digestive issues.

You have a cell phone, an answering machine, and a DVD player. But none of them are hooked up.

You firmly believe that the youth of today are significantly dumber than in your day.

You’ve never Tweeted, and never intend to. Because you’re not sure what it is.

You’re not shy about asking for Senior Discounts, even if you’re well shy of actually qualifying.

You laugh more now, than when you were young.

You’d much rather have a nice cup of tea (or coffee) and a slice of cake than a glass of wine.

When you meet someone new who’s your age, you check them out to see how badly they’re aging compared to you.

The volume level on your television makes everyone under 30 wince in pain.

You read the obituaries to see if there’s anyone you know, and read the obits of anyone who’s younger than you with keen interest.

You use email primarily to exchange politically incorrect jokes with a network of likeminded Grumpy Old Men/Women.

You have a better time when you go out now, than when you were younger, because you no longer care what anyone thinks of you.

uujudy,

You just have to send her the link to that Mateus ad. That's vintage stuff. Don't you love it when things like that happen. We are so out that we are in.

And 'Geezeritas' was the one I liked best, too. We could get a trivia team and have shirts that say Geezeritas and look like bowling shirts. We will have to think about what color the shirts will be. Maybe pink and lime green....not sure....pink with lime green lettering??? Lime green with pink lettering??? Neither of those??? Maybe a nice turquoise with lime green. It seems like those shirts have to have lime green somewhere. Oh well, we will have to think on it.

(Hey! I dvr'd Castle tonight and I was watching it just now and ran in here during the commercials to read TOTV. Uhhh....I forgot.... I can fast-forward thru those commercials.)

...and of course, we'll drink Mateus and sing, "Wasting away again in Geezeritaville"

Hahaha! We are IN! Think about that! And we're not wearing toga dresses, either.

I did send the ad to Babygirl. She said it was awesome. hahaha. Thanks for linking it here. I'm so impressed that you can do that. Boomer, you're awesome.

Any of those colors would be great. Bowling shirts sound good, but I'm wondering about tie-dyed? Is there such a thing as a tie-dyed bowling shirt? We could start a new fashion trend. Fashionista geezeritas r us.

And Castle. Sigh. That's not the ending I wanted. Poor baby.
