Default Self tested and was positive

I had the usual Covid symptoms, including a headache, which I rarely have. I self tested and it was positive. I called my Doctor, he prescribed Paxlovid. I was sick 1 day. I took the antiviral meds and was 90% better the next day. I don’t know if the Doctor reports it or the pharmacy. Either way, it was no worse then a cold. If you test positive, call your Doctor right away. Time is of the essence.

Yes, it may feel like a bad cold if you are young and healthy or only got exposed to a small doze of the virus.

Actually a lot of people did die from pneumonia and other these diseases over the past 2 years. And much more died from COVID. It was the #1 cause of death for people over 45 just this winter. Followed by cancer, heart disease, respiratory infection, and stroke in the this age group.

Here you can look it by county. I figure it'll be at it's worst starting in October.

Exactly right. Face it, everyone will probably get it at some point or has had it. The vaccines are keeping it manageable.

Totally not surprising, we spend roughly 50% of our time between Florida and New England. The precautions taken by the general populations between the two locations are polar opposites. Plus, Florida is such a tourist destination that the amount of people traveling in/out by air, going to crowed venues like Disney, and going on cruise ships lends itself to a much higher likelihood of outbreaks.

We are both vaccinated and boosted and take reasonable, but not excessive, precautions. Neither of us has gotten Covid yet (to the best of our knowledge), and we hope to keep it that way.

Default Who Cares

I’ve had it with the Covid hype, I’m over it. Don’t ask me to get another vaccine and you can have my mask if you need one.

Sumter county is 200 cases/100,000. Which is equal or lower that almost every other county in the state...

Which contradicts what another poster said earlier in this thread...

"Florida, around here, is one of the highest outbreaks in the country."

Just back from a cruise. We heard that almost every week some people do come down with the virus.

Since we both had it in May we figure we still have a good amount of antibodies but if we did another in a few months would spend a lot of time wearing masks.

CDC estimates that, from October 1, 2021 through June 11, 2022, there have been

8,000,000 – 13,000,000
flu illnesses

5,000 – 14,000
flu deaths

Can you provide evidence of either of your claims - no one dying from Flu, cold, other respiratory infection and someone being paid $30,000 to file a false death report?

We go on 2-3 cruises per year. Have not gone on one since Jan 2020.
Booked on 3 cruises 2 of which were cancelled by the cruise line, one cancelled by us due to mask requirement.

We will not go on any cruise that requires a mask....for us that is not a vacation or escape...FOR US!
