Great post idea Boomer as I sit here wide awake . It takes me at least an hour to fall asleep, as many of you have mentioned of how the brain just wont shut up hehe . I have tried some of the things suggested, actually I think the benedryl worked the best, but when I wake up in the middle of the night, I cant take it cause then its too hard to get up in the morning, for me anyways . I have tried the alphabet and saying my prayers over and over and over, that does work too, but I still seem to wake up every hour, so eventually I just give up trying and get up .
Thanks for all the great ideas from everyone, I just love TOTV!
P.S. I can remember when my son was younger and he always wanted me to watch him play Nintendo, poor kid, I felt so bad cause I would be out like a light in seconds hehe . I think I will pull out some of my old relaxation tapes that I have stored somewhere down in the basement tomorrow...I am sure that will help with this insomnia . I guess this is a good time to catch up on my emails hehe .
Nitey nite all....sweet dreams.

I have solved JeanneBeannie's problem. Get a Nintendo to play at night.

collie1228. I used to travel to Asia many times a year as well, but also did the Europe trip about the same amount. What I found worked best for me was to get on the long leg of the flight, Chicago to Hong Kong or San Fran to Sydney, or Washington to Frankfurt, depending on where I was headed, determine the time zone I was going sleep hours, and take an ambien so I was sleeping during the arrival time zone sleep hours. Same coming home. Coming from Europe to US, I would force myself to not sleep on the plane. That worked best for me. I remember a trip from Washington to KL where I was up the entire trip, got there at 6:00 AM, went to an 8:00 AM meeting and promptly fell asleep. From then on I did the sleep on the trip based on new time zone sleep time and never had another problem. Also am a never take pills person, so one ambien prescription of 30 tablets lasted me a year.

Great idea Tony!!!

Thank goodness we still have it, I will have to ask my son for some tips on how to beat that lil Mario Brothers guy hehe.

The Energizer Battery Bunny is still going strong, did the laundry, made the beds, watered flowers etc. I am on my sixth cup of tea and starting to fade .

I better dig out the Nintendo Game .

Barb! I KNEW that you were my long lost twin, except that for the most part I am a Republican...or was anyway.

I like to read in bed and cookies and milk repeated several times usually does it. (sigh)
