I too had a wonderful doctor at Premier Medical and similarly "had no problem with scheduling or billing."

HOWEVER, there are times I need to get a message to the doctor, or need a callback from his nurse—and these things never happen! Like Vicar, I have spoken with the office manager, who is sympathetic, but nothing ever changes.

Sorry, I need a doctor who is available, who doesn't require an office visit to answer a simple question. To me this communication is so crucial that I searched around for an equally quality MD (whom I found) where communication is no problem (which I also found). It's sad how people are hanging0 themselves, not realizing the importance of getting a message through.

I left Premier Medical Associates some three years ago because of the supporting staff. This is obviously been an ongoing problem and I believe it would be a waste of time to inform doctors . I say this because if this support staff has been permitted to operate in this manner for so long than it seems to me its works for the docs who desired to build a wall between them and their patients. if I am wrong than there are bigger problems their and I would fear for patients and anything I say would be moot

I desire to frequent a well run clinic for my health concerns and not spend my time concerned about their operation

I thought I was the only person having problems. Sorry to learn that I am not.

Smile Left for same reason

We liked our doctor and LOVE dr. El Arousy, but the front and back office were impossible to deal. We wrote Avery detailed letter to Dr. khan a who is the primary owner. Sent a copy to his wife who is the manager of office......nothing, not even a short note saying they got the letter. The letter was fairly calm and objective.
The problem with referrals is intolerable. The person doing them is probably swamped, but that should not impact on my health. Sometimes I would go to Dr. El Arousy because he would have his staff do the referral right then and there.
Things are way different at Villages Health Care!

Have been a Premier Med Assoc patient for over 2 years. Lived in Leesburg and only have gone to the Leesburg Med office/Urgent Care on Rt 27 there. Have been extremely pleased - my Primary Care Dr is Amir Etemadnia - very caring and attentive. Office staff etc there have been very good as well - 0 issues.
We are closing on our new TV house tomorrow - in Gilchrist (yay). I plan to continue on with Premier, and no doubt use the Leesburg facility and Dr Amir. It would be a 20 min drive, and worth it IMO. Now, my Significant Other Babe (was going to abbreviate that but thought better...) has just moved to Med Advantage and PUP - and signed up for Dr Khanna/Premier Med. I told her to check it out for the year, and if issues, switch to United Healthcare and TV Health Sys. We'll see.
We're both relatively healthy and don't require a lot of care, so...

We go to Dr Gegaj also and are pleased with his care. One problem with Premier Medical is trying to reach your destination phone number through the switchboard. There is only one number to call and when I choose the option for Sumter Landing most times there is no answer. The prescription renewal extension never is answered and I am told to leave a message. The staff in the LSL office is not very friendly. This practice will be losing patients when the new medical center opens this spring.

I can see that happening. It is a shame that their support staff isn't doing such a good job. When I suggested that they need more staff I was told that they have enough staff.

Hubby and I have been using Premier Medical since we moved here 2 years ago. Bill's gone to their urgent care a number of times. We've never had problems with the doctors (we see Dr. Shah) or the staff, and we've never had problems with referrals to specialists, either. Dr. Shah has given them to us at our visit, but our insurance company doesn't require written referrals if we stay in network. I do remember having a health insurance provider that required written referrals to specialists, and that was a nightmare.
