Default Skin Issues

Has anyone out there experienced unusual rashes and/or redness in lower back and extremities, NOT of any kind of sexual nature? Especially any men.
I've been to 4 different dermatologists now and used about 5 different cream/gel meds and nothing seem to clear it up. I've been told it's kind of a "Florida humidity thing" that eventually just goes away on its own. HUH?

I get a rash from sitting in my leather recliner chair for very long. It also happens on long trips in the car with the leather seats.

No, I do not take statins. Other than the normal vitamins, joint supplements and Zyrtec (for seasonal allergies) and once a day Aleve for back or shoulder pain, I don't take anything. All of these I have been taking for many years also. One doctor said I have hives, another said Pityriasis Rosea, but none have said they knew for certain what I had. Name the cream/gel and I have used it. Totally frustrated by this and in my groin area it is very bothersome but it definitely is NOT sexual related at all.

Hubby had rash, itchiness and swelling in his groin area and his doctor told him it was a fungal infections that had to do with sweating. He prescribed clotrimazole-betamethasone cream, which cleared it up.

We have leather furniture, so he now sits on a towel. Between the cream and towel, he's had no recurrence.

Skip the expensive RX's for a fungal issue and get an OTC either in the women's products for such things OR you can find it for "jock itch" as well. Spray works good which was unbelievable but worked good!! Also start probiotics as you might have yeast internally. This can develop at any age.

The original post reminded me of this product linked, which I've seen at Ace Hardware in the checkout line. The frank, goofy name actually describes that feeling when hot and sweaty at one time or another:

Anti Monkey Butt Powder - Original Anti Monkey Butt Powder with Calamine.

I think it's worth a try, knowing how good ole fashioned Caldesene zinc-oxide baby powder protects skin from wetness and soothes rashes, too. See Most Helpful Customer Reviews at the bottom of this product page:

Anyone can continue providing me with your insights, but a few things stated so far seem to make some sense in my case. I do sit almost exclusively in leather chairs (home, work, car) and when I use a heat pad for back pain at home, the condition definitely gets worse. Also, that "intertrigo" condition seems to almost nail the condition I have. Plus, I love craft (or most any except light) beer which does have a lot of yeast in it and now that I read that also has produced greater flare-ups too. The laundry soap thing, however, isn't the answer as we've used the same soap for 35+ years and until this Summer started (our first in Florida) this condition never appeared.
I welcome more observations but Thanks to those of you that have responded so far.

If it becomes more then you can handle schedule an appointment at the MAYO clinic. They will definitely figure it out.

My father suffered with something like this and I have the same thing... He definitely suffered with it in the "lower regions" and areas of the body that had folds..under arms... neck... waist... etc. I tend to get it on my inner arms and neck area. If all medications have failed (anti-fungals, steroidal ointments etc) then you might want to consider something a little less common. It is not contractible or contact related. It can only be diagnosed with a biopsy. If it is psoriasis then sometimes UV treatment and steroidal skin injections can help. If you want to talk further IM me.
