We must open up because if we don't the economy will collapse and our country as we all know it, will no longer exist. People need to feed their children and pay their bills. People need to visit their doctor, people need elective surgeries and treatments they are not presently getting. Some small businesses are already ruined and will never come back. Look at the big picture and not just your comfortable life because it won't be comfortable for much longer if the economy doesn't get back on track. The government cannot support every American indefinitely.

every time a decision is made some people are pleased and some are not pleased with the decision

if no decision is made, everyone is unhappy

We are living in a time where it is critical that we all take personal responsibility for our own actions....those that don't believe there is a risk will venture out like everything is back to the way it was...those that choose to stay safe will act accordingly

To all the 'wild and crazy guys'....the good news for you is that Baldwin Bros. is running a 'BOGO'

That was a great article with contrast and comparison. I caught both the swine flu when I was young (9) yea old. I was begging my mom just let me die because I was so sick. My muscles hurt and the pain made me want to be dead. Yet I survived. Same with the swine flu. Survived that too.

Well we have lost as many to CV as we have to abortion in a given year, and slightly more than traffic accident deaths

The difference is how many people you want to take with you into the grave.

You might kill yourself from depression, if you can't get out to the bocce court.

You might die of Covid-19 AND spread it to a dozen other people, if you CAN get out to the bocce court.

Though, I think the Villages residents are doing a pretty decent job of keeping the virus casualties to a minimum, I'm also glad we're maintaining the social distancing rules now that some of the activities are opening back up.

Something is wrong and it's your source of information.

Try that. You might learn something that's actually true.

Every American will get the virus. We are just controlling when. We have to stop destroying lives, families, and businesses. Dont be so self centered and selfish.

This has always been about protecting hospitals from being overwhelmed with everyone getting it at the same time because it is so contagious and worse than the flu. It is NOT about keeping everyone from getting it. Is your hospital close to being overwhelmed? Well there is your answer to why we are opening up

Here is another way to look at it. Tens of thousands of people die in car accidents every year. Many times because people are selfish and reckless when they drive. Are you willing to change the speed limit to 10 mph so that people don’t die from the actions of selfish people?

You can’t live in a perfectly safe world. You can make your own self as safe as you can.
Right now the one thing that all experts, all people who read the statistics can agree upon is this; The highest percentage of people who die from Covid-19, most say right around 80% of the people who die of Covid-19 are over 65. And the danger goes up of their dying as they get to 80 or above.

So we are not eating lunch out or having our hair cut and know that people will do what they want.

I am telling you right now, if I know you and care about you and you go out and catch this damn bug, and you die...………………..I am not wearing my BEST dress to your memorial service next year.

I think the untold "lie" is that just about everyone will be exposed to this virus eventually. There is an assumption that it will go away or a vaccine will become available. But, the underlying reason for all the shut downs is to "flatten the curve"; that is, not overwhelm hospitals, etc. But, as my friend Nick so eloquently put it: "they're just saying that everyone has to take their turn getting this virus". I tend to agree with that understanding. Stay home if you like but don't insist that I do the same.

Open it up and let's get this over with.
