We have got to start reopening this country. The Herd immunity will begin to take effect by getting out into the sunshine.

The point of closing down and having all these restrictions isn't to stop the virus. It's to slow it down, and give science and the medical community time to create a vaccine and discover safe treatments for people who come down with it.

That way even if it does return next season, we will have the tools to manage it. Not necessarily cure it, and not prevent it 100% but MINIMIZE the risk, MINIMIZE the suffering, MINIMIZE the deaths that result from it.

We have no way of doing that currently except to shut things down and keep everyone away from each other. That obviously isn't something we can do long-term. It is a temporary pause so they can come up with something better, for the next time it happens.

Lake/Marion/Sumter: Population is 855,000, 678 cases, 33 deaths - if you discount prison cases and nursing home/assisted living facilities, that's 93 of the cases in Lake and Sumter. So, ah likes mah chances....

Walked by City Fire in Sumter yesterday around 3pm and people generally were 6ft apart and moved seatc close to outside railing along the sidewalks. Some people were closer sitting table, but appeared to be husband & wives. When two couples the couple were seperated by 6ft away from the other couple. Looked pretty good to me, same at Red Sauce. It was good to see people enjoying the day with friends relatives over something to eat and a couple drinks.

Observed the same later in the evening, had a wonderful dinner al fresco at Chophouse. Took a walk after and people were respectful to keep their distance. A small group was dancing in unison individually and properly separated at the square.

Overall a reasonable compromise for the paradoxes around this virus from hell.

So, you needed your sustenance and you thought going into a recreation center and sitting there would give you that sustenance? I hope you recover without any complications from your chemotherapy.
