Y'all must be vegans if you like Jersey Mike's. They go very thin on the meat. Publix and Sweetbay make the best subs.

I am not sure which side of US 441/27 this is on from the map. Can you go there via golf cart?
It is on the west side of 441. In the parking lot in front of Target. Yes you can get there by golf cart..........eventually.

I like mine simple. Tell them you want #3 regular on white and then have it 'Mike's Way'. That lettuce, tomato, onion, oil & vinegar, salt & pepper and oregano. BTW, #3 is ham and pravalone, any of them are good, my wife likes #7 which is turkey breast. I haven't had a steak sub yet, but I hear they are also good. I'm stuck on cold cuts right now.

Have a look at their menu Jersey Mike's Subs

What I also like about JM is the meat is sliced for each sandwich as it's prepared, not precut laying flat on a sheet of paper in a cooler ready to be slapped on the bun. This way the meat is piled high and tastes great!

Default Sweet Bay

We tried Sweet Bay subs and they are gigantic. They are 5.99 for any type. It will feed 3 people. It does have a lot of bread though, they use an entire loaf of bread when making the sub. Its a little too much bread for me but they are delicious and they don't skimp.

We just got back from picking up hot subs from Sweetbay and stopping at the Sunset Park on Morse Bridge to eat them. It was a lovely time of day and our cart was all alone.

Yummy.

Now we will have to try Jersey Mike's next week.

I agree with that. I went to Jersey Mike's once and got their Italian sub. It was OK, but I think that Publix is better.

Nothing compares to some of the good Italian sub shops back home.

Best in what respect? Best tasting? Best regarding healthy ingredients?

.
In My Humble Opinion.......Jersey Mike's is Excellent.

If you are really concerned about bread intake......
.....they will use a soft tortilla to wrap it, in-lieu of the bread.

For a "real" sub, you would have to bring Pat's Steaks or Gino's from Philly here, or The White House or Sacco's here from Atlantic City.
The key is 'real' Italian bread. Publix's bread is the closest to the real thing although Jersey Mikes makes a decent sub.

Subs, grinders, heros, etc. I guess they are all unique in some way, but I am a Po Boy guy, and to get what I want, I have to make them at home. I would like to find a good torta down this way, though.

Hope the new owners keep the sub counter. The subs are very good and BIG.
Buy a sub,a large item from the deli and a six pack of beer and you have a nice lunch for 4 people for $20 with 2 beers leftover..
