What's with that? Saying not to swat a fly. I have family members who CARRY spiders outside.

I am a murderer. flies, ants, spiders. I KILL them.

Maybe someone should notify the Health Department. I believe insect infestations are one of the trip wires that will cause a food service business to be shut down until it is controlled.

I would doubt if the Health Department would say anything about flies outside. They are all over. I've seen them at every restaurant in the Villages if I'm outside.

Gracie, I hate to admit it, but I killed one of those barking frogs the other day (I call them dog frogs). It was hiding under my window and barking non-stop for 2 nights. I just couldn't take it anymore!

One can make light of this problem, but Bonifay is such a beautiful place with tremendous potential I hate to see it tarnished by a fly issue.
If the flys are outside Im sure they are in the kitchen, where the food is made. Ugh. Has anybody talked to who ever is in charge there? Did he or she come up with an answer?

I just checked Wikipedia to see if Lovebugs have predators and they don't have many. Here goes. "While lovebugs are not a favored food of most insectivores due to their acidic taste, lovebug larvae—and some adults—are food for birds such as quail and robins. Arthropod predators include spiders, some predatory insects such as earwigs and at least two species of beetle larvae, and a centipede.[6]" Apparently they are too acidic.

I doubt if there are flies in the kitchen at Bonifay. There are not flies indoors but maybe a couple do come in now and then. Inside, the restaurant is very clean and enjoyable.

I did email the owner and got an answer. He claims that they do spray outside every morning and put poison fly bait (?) under the bushes and trees. He said he has tried every remedy he knows but nothing has helped and is just hoping that time will fix the problem.

I wonder why he has not taken this matter up with a professional exterminating company like Massey.
