I must have tried chicken dishes, beef dishes, pork and shrimp dishes AT China Gourmet. The sauces to me just have very little if any flavor. I've had Shrimp egg foo young many times at other restaurants and have always enjoyed it. This was not bad it was horrible. The best dish I've had at China Gourmet was the House Lo Mein Spicy

I'm calling this new kind of Chinese food experience "Hybrid". WD has asparagus for $2.99/lb. I like broccoli crowns too, also inexpensive.
What meat or fish entree could be bought at a Chinese Restaurant and mixed in with home steamed asparagus or broccoli. You would get the flavor, the included brown rice and eat more veggies than meat.

Do you see where I'm going?

Word to the wise--the restaurant in Colony & the restaurant in Pinellas are owned by the same family--this was my experience with, the restaurant in Pinellas--wife special ordered a fish dish for my birthday-took one bite and everything went into the disposal--went out to eat

Months ago you wrote a very negative review of this restaurant, the duck, I believe. Why would you return, especially on your birthday for fish takeout?

We found that most of the dishes at Koyame look good but are bland and tasteless.

Koyame is pretty good. I find the food in most Chinese restaurants in this area to be bland. Koyame's food is nicely seasoned.

Chinese, like Italian, is very subjective. In both cases you are not eating "authentic". It's Chinese American or Italian American, not the way it's prepared in the actual countries. The best Italian food I've ever eaten has been in Italy. Likewise the best Chinese food I've ever eaten was in Beijing. In both cases, it was nothing like what you find in the U.S.

Having said that, I find Koyame to be very good ( not as bland as others) but still searching for good Italian.

I am agreeing with you. I keep trying it because it is so convenient but it is just missing deep flavor.
