The problem with any state or local law restricting access to dogs is that they do not apply to "service" dogs. Service dogs are regulated by the Federal ADA (Americans with disabilities) Act. If a dog owner says that their dog is a service dog, you have very limited options on restricting access to the dog. And, the dog owner doesn't need to provide any documentation or written proof that the dog is any different from any other dog. No vest or certification of any type is required. Google it.

Service dogs should for someone who is handicapped not just because you think that you have the right to infringe upon others. I see people putting little fluffy back in their carts in Publix again!

The concern should be less over whether the animal is a bona fide service animal and more over whether the animal is under control. A service animal that is misbehaving and not under control can be removed. An animal that might not be a service animal but is at the owner’s side and out of the way is not a problem.

The answer to the question posted is in post 27. Naysayers can be disregarded.
Responsible dog owners will know if their dog is well behaved enough to go to dinner in the allowable places. Hopefully dog owners are honest enough to know their dog's behavior is good enough, or leave them home.

As for people feeding their dog from the table; more info needed. Were they outside in an allowable place? If so, passing a piece of pizza from their hand to the dog on the ground is a non event.
There is the option to go inside if you don't want to see dogs at a restaurant. If a dog is misbehaving outside to the point of obstructing others' meals, complain to the management.

That's your opinion. But it isn't the law. And establishments (such as restaurants, fast-food chains, supermarkets, doctor's offices, department stores, phone company offices, etc etc etc) reserve the RIGHT to not allow pets - whether controlled or otherwise. That is THEIR right. You have the right to not go to these places, and they have the right to not let your pet through their doors.

Service animals are TRAINED to behave. That's an actual thing. Pets might, or might not be trained to behave. You don't get to find out until after the damage is done.

If all of this bothers you, stay home. You're allowed to, that is your right. Or you can go and be bothered by it. That is also your right. What you don't have the right to do, is bring your pet into any building owned or rented by someone other than you. That would be a privilege granted to you by the owner/tenant.

I don’t believe you are right that you have the right to explain to me my rights. Or perhaps you believe you have the right to grant me rights but you would not be right about that right either.

As for my post, you are right that the first sentence is my opinion. However, the second sentence is the LAW (had to get the caps in there somehow). The third sentence is a statement of fact, neither opinion or law.

You may want to break out the law books again. Of course, it’s your right to not do that, but it would help you to be more right when making assertions about rights.
