went to flippers once. that was enough for me. everyone talks about the pizza up NORTH but its true. A lot of folks here wouldnt know a good pizza if it smacked them in the face. They like pizza hut. NYPD and Little Joeys are passable.

Flippers is NOT good pizza. I agree. Stavro's and Little Joey's are the best down here. Flipper's is overpriced cardboard.

I like Flippers. I SURE WISH SOMEBODY WOULD BRING BACK PIZZA TO COLONY! They would be better off starting there, then Brownwood later. Colony's gotten so crowded but that's another thread...

Default brownwood pizza

pizza is a very subjective thing. I know people who rave about pizza hut and papa johns. People who grew up in the northeast especially the new your area grew up on the greatest pizza in the world and yet no two places taste the same. I think Flippers was horrible. the only decent place there is for pizza here is belleview pizza. I lived in south florida for 35 years and always compared the pizza to there. Now I am trying to find a pizza thats as good as south florida.

Flippers will never open in brownwood because they are already building an italian restaurnat

Default Big Bob's Pizza

When Robin and I go out for pizza, we take the drive to Ocklawaha to Big Bob's. Not bad at all! Very nice people! Be prepared to wait awhile on weekends.

Listen very carefully to me. Got your listening ears on? ( I heard that on Judge Judy)

The pizza people love is the kind that they grew up with. As you said, pizza is very subjective. So that if we love it, it is the best for us. And if you love it, it is the best for you. New Yorkers think they have the best and Chicagoans think theirs is the best.

Of course they are wrong. It is La Rosa's from Cincinnati and I am SO missing it.

Just funnin' you a little above in my first sentence, kiddo.

We've consistently had excellent pizzas and salads at Flippers, and that's compared to NY or Chicago pizzas, which are good but highly over-rated.

And Flippers is the ONLY restaurant here that has the sense to buy, cut up and serve RED tomatoes on their salads.....not those hard, waxy, pinkish sponge things all the other places serve, just like "up north" where the growing season is only three months!
