Very well said. We just returned after a two year hiatus from TV and this was one of our first stops. Very disappointed but might have given it another chance but not after they decided the multitude of Villagers who enjoy draft beer will have to go elsewhere. Elsewhere it is!

Yes, nobody goes there anymore, it's too crowded.

Nobody goes there anymore...and Yet it's " Crowded " your comment doesn't add up or make sense.

It's not supposed to make sense because it's a joke.

It's a famous quote from Yogi Berra on why he no longer went to Rigazzi's, a St. Louis restaurant. It's a "Yogi-ism."

Our waiter had no idea! And the owner wasn’t there.

I can understand their decision if space is a issue. The kitchen looks small from the outside and remember that going into the weekend, you would need at least 2 barrels of each brand. Maybe more on 1 or 2 very popular ones. Isn’t haveing proper room for “safe” cold food more important. I love draft like m@ny others, but it’s not a deal breaker. The profit is much higher on draft but that was not the way they chose to go. Without proper space, maybe they have to drop some items from the menu. But many want to jump ship over no draft...that shows no loyalty. Kegs take up a lot of room and a seperare cooler sounds like a easy solution but they probably don’t have any more space. I’m sure they thought this over....I’ll still go...vodka n sprite with a lime, please....thanks

I remember from a few years ago when I owned a kegerator at home. I would buy a pony keg from the local liquor store for about $40 and it held not quite 8 gallons, which came out to about 80 12 oz draft beers, that's about 50 cents a beer. Of course a restaurant is buying full size kegs at wholesale, that's a great markup item to be giving up. I think I would find a way to build a separate cooler for the kegs.

I think I used that quote in a thread last week and someone was perplexed. It's like déjà vu all over again.

I keep hearing/reading about the lack of draft beer, but what about the ones...that enlisted voluntarily?

I remember when I was about 14 riding my bike in downtown St. Petersburg and going by the front of the Soreno Hotel, that was one the big pink hotels that was torn down about 25 years ago. Yogi Berra was sitting out front on one of the green benches and looked like he was being interviewed. Some reporter type was sitting there with a pad writing stuff down.
![]() They still have the other pink hotel, The Vinoy which is where I learned to play golf when I was about 12. They had a little nine hole Par 3 I could play all day for $3. ![]() The Don Caesar is still there on St. Pete Beach. ![]() |
