I would settle for a good German restaurant.

Sounds to me like a great combination for a food truck festival. Add poutine, falafels, wood-fired pizza, a pig-roast, a teriyaki truck, cannoli shells stuffed with your choice of flavored mascarpone filling to order, a Philly Cheesesteak truck, buffalo wings, the obligatory popcorn truck, and stroopwafels with toppings, and of course Cousin's Maine Lobster truck and you could easily fill Oxford Downs behind Brown & Brown farm store on 301.

That restaurant isn’t in The Villages and I’m guessing you’re a joy to wait on.

You would have to ask their corporate offices to get a definitive answer for that. But, I would guess that with their nation wide popularity, they must be doing pretty well with their Italian inspired selection when it comes to pleasing Americans hungry for Italian style food.

Bye the way, had lunch today at a (supposedly) real Italian restaurant in TV. Very popular place. Was it great? No. Was it good? No. Many we like better. Even O. G.! The only item we thought was good was the garlic rolls served with a small, fairly plain salad. My next Italian meal will be from our kitchen. Yes! I can cook! Haven't killed anyone, yet! Now, where did I put those camparri tomatoes? 😋

I think my earliest post on this was the same as yours....when it comes to Italian, selfishly, I can do it better in my own kitchen. As another stated and I agree, you control the ingredients. Try the authentic san marzano tomatoes if you're going red

No food in or near the Villages is as good as the food back where you came from.
No restaurant in or near the Villages is as good as your favorite restaurant back home.
No dish served in or near the Villages is as authentic as the dish you had in the country you visited.
Nothing served in or near the Villages is as good as you can make yourself in your own kitchen.

WHY IN THE WORLD DO YOU STILL GO OUT???? Can we get back to talking about roundabouts, snowbirds, and dog poop?

Reminds me of when a known manufacturer was asked why there was no lobster listed in their ingredients for lobster sauce. Simple, they said, it was a sauce FOR lobster.

Common Chinese food takeout menu item: Shrimp with lobster sauce. There's no lobster in the sauce. But it evolved from a dish called Lobster Cantonese (which is amazingly delicious), but it uses shrimp instead of lobster.
