Any truth in this???
The Floridan water is anti bagel, anti pizza. I had owned a Pizzaria in Cypress Creek, Florida in 93. The pizza was great because we filtered all the water which definitely made a difference.

But I agree again with Lushix, we sure are on the same page.... how can a bagel place run out of bagels mid day???? Same thing happened to me the other day.

Who needs wine at a bagel place, the coffee is excellent btw...
They ran out of bagels? I agree with you on this. Why did they add wine to a bagel place? They should focus on the product.

stick to the specialty, not add everything under the sun..If it's a bagel place, stick to bagels!

According to The Villages Gourmet Club web site, they closed in mid March.

Arrow That was quick!

Closed already???? I never had the opportunity to try them! Although I never could understand serving wine in a Bagel place. That's a shame.

Very sad, it was such a nice place and had so much potential. The happy hour plan was just to drum up some business. I was there last week during lunch and it was sooo empty and there was new staff, so I gathered it was the beginning of the end. They did so many things wrong (I think I said it earlier when they first opened) but had the best Kona coffee in TV. Feels like they just had the grand opening?

If a bagel place opened and filtered their water and they boiled there bagels it would taste just like a NY bagel. The expense of doing this I don't know

When we were in TV in December I spoke with the manager and got the deals on the bagels. It's a long story that I prefer not to go into now.

Actually they got the bagels from NY (I think from H&H) already boiled and ready for the oven. I thought they were pretty good for florida bagels.

I am sorry to hear of the poor service reviews. But how are the Bagels themselves?? Are they up to the standard of a NY one?? There is nothing like a good bagel and a cup of coffee in the morning.

I sure wish some type of coffee shop, even a Dunkin Donuts, would move to Colony Plaza. Sorry the bagel place did not make it. I visited several times and it was never busy. Dunkin Donuts on 466 is always busy. Even a Panera Bread would be a nice addition.

Totally agree MSN......
We need more places to eat in Colony. A Panera would be great, or Dunkin Donuts even better. We also could use something that stays open a little later in the evening like Denny's (but I doubt something that big would come into Colony) but you never know.

The bagels weren't bad for Florida, but the service was pretty awful. I think I said it before, if you ordered a dozen to go, your lucky if 1/2 of them are what you ordered. Its sad.

MSN, let's you, me and Donna open up a place in there. Donna will be the waitress, she'll bring in the customers.....LOL...

Thumbs up

We can also have A & S Bagels from Franklin Square air lift bagels in from Long Island.
Even day old bagels from NY are better than nuttin'.
