The list goes on an on.....
I have not seen it frequently, but I have seen these behaviors as well. Also saw someone take the salt and pepper shakers from Bamboo Bistro.

Did you report the crime? Petit Larceny x 3 = Felony Larceny. As they say, it all adds up.

I didn't, but I saw the busboy report it to the hostess. I left wondering if: 1. The customers paid with a credit card; and 2. Whether they tried to report it to the police using the cc info?

You are going to find all kinds of people here. We used to have a neighbor who would drive a 20 mile round trip to save 20 cents. Go figure.

That'll teach them to leave empty packets on the table. If you're going to do something like that, be discrete about it.

How petty. I think the server should have minded his own business of waiting on tables.

Ha! That's really funny! Come on! They should have just paid the 75 cents (each) and then subtract it from the tip.

The couple wasn't being cheap, in my opinion. If they were cheap, they wouldn't be eating at that restaurant in the first place. Would they?

Those people didn't take anything from the restaurant. What they did was order a meal and pay for it. The restaurant owner should have known better than to make an issue out of it. It would only become a lose/lose situation. Did anyone win as a result of that unpleasant exchange? No!

The Sweet Tomatoes incidents I mentioned above are the perfect example. When I first saw people taking from the special toppings section and then deny taking from special toppings, I made excuses for them too. I thought Sweet Tomatoes was just making a poor business decision because it was too easy for someone to unwittingly take the special toppings and not know there was an additional charge. But when I see folks actually reading the sign, taking the toppings, and then denying it, I can no longer make excuses for them.
This is probably why Sweet Tomatoes has raised its price at least $3-4 per person in the short time it's been open here.

Either you are doubting my word (which is your right, although you would be incorrect not having witnessed what my wife I have witnessed time and time again) or you are making excuses for this type of behavior.
Cappy you're very observant. I don't think I've ever paid that much attention to what other diners are doing.

It's really not rocket science...they are in line in front of me, so I usually end up watching them go back and forth deciding...then they pay...then I pay...then they go to the soda fountain...then I go to the soda fountain...then I watch them make their major drink decisions while I await my turn to get a drink.

Do you mean to tell me you have never seen this at a restaurant? If not, check it out-- sometimes it is quite entertaining.

I've honestly never noticed this. Guess I've never been interested in the person in front of me unless they stand there counting their teeth, hemming and hawing about what to order, holding everyone up. Guess I'll have to pay more attention in the future. It might be amusing.

To me,it is mighty cheap of the restaurant goers to take their own lemonade. Even if it for diabetic reason, they could forgo the drink if sugar-free lemonade or another sugar-free drink is not available.
I am amazed that there are not more stories like this in TV. Up north seniors were notorious for "rifeling" the sweet n low and sugar packets emptying the container into their purse. Coming in and ordering the cheapest special and splitting it while hanging onto the table for hours. A friend of mine owned a restaraunt and would remove all but 2 sugar packets when the seniors showed up for "early birds" and charged a "sharing" fee. I would be soooooo embarased if my table partners did something like what has been stated here.....

Wnat to eat on the cheap? The food kitchen in Wildwoood ios the place to go.......
