Default Centurylink Prism pixelated TV images

Been experiencing problem since Tuesday with our Centurylink Prism TV. Occasionally screen freezes and almost continuous pixilation on all channels. Reported to Centurylink 3 times. One fix after they escalated to higher level tech support was for them to do a software upgrade from their center. Fix was only temporary and now have same problem. Rep said they were escalating to "chronic problem tech support". Supposed to get a call back from them. No call yet after 1& 1/2 hours. I was told to call back at 3 Pm if I have not received the promised call .

Anyone else experiencing the same problems?

I don't know if this will help you . I have brighthouse and it works for me when I have those problems. I unplug the converter box at the electrical outlet. Wait a couple of minutes and replug it in. This reboots the cable box. This was recommended to me from brighthouse.

That was the first suggestion when I called Centurylink. Within 5 minutes after doing that, same problem started occurring. On second call they escalated to next level of tech support who did a software update. That seemed to fix problem until last evening and this morning when problem got worse. While I am still waiting for call from "chronic problem support", it seems the pixilation has stopped. So I don't yet know if they fixed the problem, or it fixed itself.

We live in Rio Grande and had Prism. Experienced the same problems and after months of picture freezing, rebooting cable box, calling and having repair guys out (all to no avail) we switched to Direct TV. Brighthouse doesn't service above 466A. We kept Centurylink for internet and phone, but dropped Prism. We are happy with Direct TV!!

I have many promotions available to new customers. You will also be able to keep your existing phone number in most cases.. If you would like more information feel free to either email me or call me.. Thanks..
Sorry, we live north of CR 466 so we can have either Comcast which we dropped after 14 years of never ending rate increases or, Centurylink.

I believe that may be an option for us also. Just wondering if weather has affected your Direct TV service. We have family up north and that is a constant complaint from them.

I would think if it were a problem as you mentioned, it would affect others as well. That was the reason why I asked initially if any other Centurylink Prism subscribers in TV were experiencing similar pixilation problems.

We are moving to TV in April and are seriously considering DirectTV. My only concern is weather (Rain) related outages. That happened to us years ago but not sure if that has been minimized or not.

We switched to Direct last March and looking to change again. Love what Direct TV has to offer as far as channels and ease of use, but you can count on outages everyday in the summer with the rains. And now they dropped the Weather Channel!

Sent you a Pm with details of last weeks go around with Century link. Long and short is the guys on the phone are clueless. This problem is not the box. Cracks and splices in the cable cause signal bleed when it is wet and cold if it isn't raining when they come and put a meter on it it looks fine. They have to find the crack in the line and replace the line back past the break to the previous junction.

Directv didn't drop the Winter Channel, which is owned by NBC which is owned by Comcast, a competitor. They are in negotiations, Comcast wants more money to carry their channel and Directv said no. Instead Directv in response to the Weather Channel carrying less weather and more reality TV has created Winter Nation one channel below on Channel 361 and is all weather all the time. It's kind of like MTV when they dropped videos to carry reality TV shows, in fact the blond hair gay weatherman that was on Good Morning America left them and was hired by the Weather Channel to create a talk show.

As far as Directv summer weather outages, I can remember maybe twice last summer losing all programing. You'll notice only the HD channels will go out during heavy rain, if you go to the menu and click on 'all channels', you find a non-HD version of every channel. Nine times out of ten, that channel will be available. For example, TNT HD on channel 245 goes out, bring up your menu and select 'all channels', then select the other channel 245. Usually it's only for a few minutes and the HD channel will return.

Never got to speak with a technician. I got disconnected and, at that moment, the tv
picture became unfrozen. Missed the Russian figure skaters live, though.
