on the scorecards and tee signs at some of the executive courses down south.

I've been trying to get a feel for the executive courses so I've been trying to play different ones. Yesterday I played Bogart and I noticed that this course has no yardage numbers on the scorecard or tee signs. There are yardage markers on the ground at each of the teeing areas, but I would like to get an idea of the total yardage of each course from the back middle and front tees. I noticed that these numbers are not on the website either.

So far I've played, Hilltop, Silver Lake, Mira Mesa El Diablo, De La Vista, Pimlico and Bogart and this is the first one that doesn't have this information.

Any idea why The Villages stopped showing this information on the scorecards?

Bogart was in decent shape by the way, however several of the greens had some serious issues and all of them were extremely slow compared to Pimlico.

Many (most/all??) of the southern executives have a separately printed slip of paper, available at the starter shack, with the yardages from the 3 tee boxes. These slips of paper are, as far as I can tell, identical to the yardages that are available on the web. For example,

Why the scorecards lack this information is a mystery to me.

I don't think they stopped showing the yardage. I think they never did show it. Ask at the starter shack and some have little slips of paper with all the yardages printed on them. I use my old Garmin S-1 and love it.

The reason is this: From Pimlico, Churchill Greens, Belmont and all courses on the north side of 466, there are usually only three tee boxes on a hole (one for green, one for gold & one for black) so the distances are relatively the same daily and hence printed on the scorecards. Upon construction of courses south of the above, they realized that to alleviate wear and tear, more tee boxes were the answer. There are anywhere from 3 to 6 different tee boxes per hole that are rotated daily on these courses which does not make it feasible to list all of the different yardages on the scorecard. Hence you have yardage sheets available at all of the starter shacks. The yardages are also listed on Golf The Villages under each executive course tab that are printable. Hopefully this answers your question.

I rarely use yardages on signs, markers or scorecards anymore since I started using my Skycaddie and my Bushnell rangefinder.

I have a golf buddy for that reason but honestly it really doesn't make a difference on my club choice because the ball goes the same distance with everyone of them that's my self deprecating humor

Also there are yardage markers in the middle of each tee box area next to the cart path.

We've been playing golf in TV, primarily Exec courses for 2 years now. Never seen yardage on scorecards - at least the ones south of 466 that we play.

I always get -or ask for- the "mileage chart" from the starter shack when signing in. Most times the way we play - it feels that way as we sometimes zigzag our way to the hole.

The markers are next to the cart path and pretty accurate to the center of the green.If the pin is in the back the tee markers will (sometimes) be forward in the tee box and vice versa.Also on the pin there are 2 flags the small white one will change location with the pin placement (sometimes).

Exactly. Range finders and GPS are really not needed on the executive courses. The plaques on the ground are very good and you can estimate a few yards behind or ahead. If the pin is up front I deduct ten yards and if up back add ten. I'm not that good of a player where I need the distance down to the yard.

Playing regulation course might be a different story because you don't have exact yardage plaques in the ground every ten yards.
