I had a lot of admiration for John McCain. America lost a good one today. I wish Senator McCain fair winds and following seas.

John McCain served in the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1981, including spending 5 1/2 years as a POW in Vietnam. He was awarded numerous military honors.

The American flag is now being flown at half staff at the White House.

John McCain was an American hero.

I think it is sad that some have become so callous that they are unable to simply offer (or refrain from offering) condolences without stooping to political vitriol.

Condolences to the McCain family and friends.

Especially for someone who served their country for so long.

Unhappy

One of the few politicians I really admired. R.I.P. John McCain. He was a man of nobility, strength and courage.

To counter a false smear-- FACT CHECK: Was Sen. John McCain a 'Hanoi Hilton Songbird'?

A TRUE conservative, a true gentleman.

RIP
Yep.

Whether one agreed with his positions or not, he could have taken the low road and would probably have had more support...yet he stood up for integrity, honesty and honor.

Which is all too lacking these days.

He was, by ANY measure...an American hero.

Whether you agree with his politics or not, he was an honorable man and I just wish he could have lived a while longer to see what happens next.

My thoughts are with his wife and family. RIP
