Default John McCain.....American Hero

Sen McCain has left us in body, but may his spirit of TRUTH, TRUE PATRIOTISM, integrity and strong will somehow infuse itself into our daily life.

His version of America is my version......may that spirit instill itself in others.

Thank you for speaking up, Bucco. I am terrified for our country. How can people be so easily manipulated? I taught 1984 in 1984. I never dreamed I would be living it. (It was my party — a while back —and I’ll cry if I want to.)

Thank you Madeleine.

I almost responded to that tasteless, classless, lying post, early this morning. But then I went away for a while. Thanks for following through.

I am sure the thread will be shut down soon. But at least we had a say.
Well, much of my "say" has been deleted. Those of us who object to the hate are the bad guys it appears. But the idea I suppose was to insure it was taken down. I got sucked into being angry because Sen McCain is a hero, deserves to be honored, but today's world does not allow for honor or truth.

I should have used better judgement and expected this type of behavior on here.

Good choice of a quote.

Shame how things have developed.

I didn't understand a link to a stupid debunked conspiracy theory at the start either.

RIP John McCain. He did what he thought was the best for our country. We need more like him before there is no country.

Bravo to The Moderator who straightened out the ledger. I admire the new even-handedness. It's a compliment, not a shot.

There are very few people in this world that would want all of the pages of their book read aloud at their funeral.

I think the word "hero" is over used these days, but not in John McCain's case. He exemplified the word hero. When he was captive, and when he was on the senate floor he always did what he felt was the right thing to do, that takes courage. On a more personal note, my dear friend spent an afternoon with him, her words to me yesterday, "I spent a whole day with dear John McCain. He had his driver drop him off at the ranch gate and he walked the two miles in, LOL! He knew my dad and he berated me for being too tan (he still had band aids on from his skin cancer surgery). He was totally genuine and sincerely sweet."

Does not matter how the naysayers and such portray him, he is a national hero. He exemplifies all that is good...all that is the USA. As he often said, he was not perfect, actually flawed, but he showed class, patriotism and character in his entire life.

A shame the WH refuses to join everyone else and even fly our nations flag at half mast.
