Change one letter of Osama and who do you have. If he gets in again I will lose faith in the American people to have any brains at all. Even if it is Romney that gets in it will be better than obama.

I agree

we certainly don't want to upset the Afghanistan government and have them cut off taking our billions of dollars be supplied to them.

An apology was made by the commanders and US representatives in the field.

Obama apologizing was overkill and precedent setting, adding no additional value.

The taking the soldiers to task is just plain old C _ _ _ _ _ N S _ _ T
politics accomplishing nothing nothing but an expectation for us to do something for every fly speck they find in their pepper.

First off, who gave the order to burn the crappy books? The soldiers were only doing as ordered. I am sure that some Private did not take it upon himself to just go about burning books, even if they are full of lies and tell funny stories about stone women for no reason, and all the women are just property of their husbands and honor killings are just fine.

You have been in the military long enough to know that some officer gave the order and now some Private is gonna take it in the shorts.

You would think that people living in Afghanistan as soldiers would get how religious this country is. That just seems stupid to provoke violence like this by burning what is seen in that region as a Holy Book. There really is not an equivalent in the West to just how religious this society is.

I am amazed at how people trip over themselves to explain why it is Okay or should be accepted when anybody other than a christian, or in the USA the crazy religious right, does something that aligns with their religion.

Everybody else has a good reason.

Have a belief as strong as a muslim and be a christian, and you are a nut. Be a muslim and do something crazy and you had a good reason.

So using this analogy, should Obama have known that the Catholic church would have a problem with the birth control portion of the Obama care?
