During the primary campaign, Mitt Romney said he would veto the DREAM Act if passed by Congress. Now that President Obama has a scaled down version of the DREAM Act in place with an Executive Order - and a brilliant move at that - Mr. Romney flip-flops to say it is a needed thing even though it was wrong to pass it like that.
On Face the Nation, Romney was clearly flummoxed with the wind taken out of the sails over this issue. Well, Mitt, are you going to go along with it or what? We are listening - and so are your Tea Party handlers.Mitt Romney's Dream Act Response Highlights Political Peril | Swampland | TIME.com |

I think we should all agree that measuring politicians flip flops is as useful and as accurate as measuring a passing cloud.
They all do it and to high light one more than another is only partisan tabulation satisfaction. How about something of significance like whether the free pass to illegals is right? What good does it do the average American that all the politicians admit "are hurting"? btk |

I agree. I am so focused on Romney putting the economy back on track, I refuse to be deterred by any other issue.

This is the guy who'll "get the economy back on track"? We know that's not Obama. But it's beginning to look like it's not Romney either. |

vk - so what is wrong with waiting another 5 mos for action if the action[s] the congress might take are anything like the action[s] they have taken so far?!? the fact that congress does not act allows the federal reserve and wall street to run things so that they can get the blame for whatever! let the tax hike hit - it might be what voters need to get rid of the bnch of clowns in dc - not much else has helped so far! besides, we all new that congress would remain in its stalemate after the last election thru the next election. inaction is nothing that was not expected.
just sayin, ya know? |

Mitt Romney is going to look like the Great Wallenda traversing Niagara Falls when he comes out with his immigration plan later this week. If he sticks with his hardline primary stance of self-deportation for all illegal immigrants to return to their native countries and get in line for immigration, he'll get very few hispanic votes meaning he'll lose the election. If he comes out in support of President Obama's new policy allowing some young illegal immigrants to stay in the US, he'll be doomed with his tea-party supporters.
Right now he is shaking the etch-a-sketch and talking jibberish. Yesterday, when asked whether he would overturn the executive order, he answered "It would be overtaken by events". What the heck does that mean? Fastern your seat belts. This is going to get good. http://www.tampabay.com/incoming/rom...-order/1235951 |

Think of the country as the apartment building you live in. In this made up world, you and the other tenants get to decide who your future landlord will be in November.
The apartment foundation is cracking, the roof and windows leak, the paint is peeling, your neighbors are parking cars in your driveway…… The current landlord buys a new pretty plant for the front entry and many tenants love the new plant. He smiles and says how good he feels about the new plant…… Do you really think that the focus of the landlord selection should be what the other landlord would do with the new plant if he took over? I am losing hope that the general population can get past the shiny objects being held up to distract them during all of these campaigns. |

The most recent Rasmussen Poll states that 62% of Americans believe we are in a recession. Savings levels for us have dropped to pre 1994. McCain is adamant that Obama's deliberate avoidance of Syria is going to cost us big time down the road. I believe he is on to something because Russia" Putin feels his investments in siding with Syria dictator will pay off in big dividends given the amount of money and weapons he is pouring into Syria. Our unemployment rate is a disgrace. Our energy policy null and void. Obama is pouring billions into green energy projects that are folding up faster than most of the pro golfers did in the US Open. So what is Obama doing but pandering for votes by executing by fiat policies that will garner him votes like the Hispanic vote, the gay, vote the Hollywood vote ( and he loves Hollywood money) Policies which by the way are not beneficial to this nation
With all of this coming down on us I am continually amazed at the glowing chatter I hear from liberals about Obama. I guess that liberals have adjusted their view concerning Obama's performance in the same manner I did about my golf game. I lowered my expectations and you know what I play so much better now. This whole thing goes way beyond who is elected in November. This nation's existence is at stake and the American people should first understand and decide what policy(s) need to be enacted and then its leaders ...and not the reverse. We know Obama has failed miserably. We are not sure that Romney is the best prospect. so we need to focus ourselves on viable candidates for Congress. I am afraid that we do not have a sufficient enough number of voters who understand (sophicated enough)because they continue to act as if they are choosing a winner from one of these God awful reality shows. |

I cannot vote for Romney. I am a conservative. He is Not. On this immigration order of President Obama, Republicrats say it proves the President should not be president, yet Romney told CBS Sunday he would not stop the Executive Order when he takes office.. he will wait for a solution from Congress. How can Republicrats claim this latest Order of President Obama is a reason he should not be re elected when Romney will do the same thing?
Go away Mr. Romney. You have lost the Conservative Vote. Open up the convention for a Conservative. I will not vote for a candidate from any party who says he will violate his oath to enforce the laws (including immigration laws) of the United States. JJ |

I totally disagree with your analogy.
Enforcing the laws of the US after your have taken a sworn oath to do so is the CORE of the character of the candidate. I would throw out the current landlord and tell the new one I will not pay him one red cent if he does not intend to do anything different than the last one. I will not give Romney support of any kind. Those of you who vote for him deserve what you get.. another big spending military industrial complex budget busting flip flopping politician. JJ Quote:

Unfortunately, you are correct. I always believed that the middle core was above all the trinkets and they made good decisions, but today the voting process has no respect any more and thus you might have it nailed.
