Default Savi lights in the pool

We put in a lighting fixture that changes colors. Ours seems to only get three of the five colors. T&D has come out and tells us you have to hold a button off for x amount of seconds for different programs. No matter what we do, we still get the same program and it omits 2 of the 5 colors. Has anyone else experienced this? I have the sense that this may be a problem T&D has faced before and don't really know how to fix.

Is it safe to assume they gave you the manual for the lights?

Operation of the lights begins on p. 8:

If you search this site you will finds many threads and probably thousands of comments about T&D Pools. I've written some and read most. I'm not sure I can recall a single negative remark. In my book they are an exceptional company, unfortunately unable to immediately keep up with demand, but reliable, professional and fair priced.

Hmmmn. Wow. Amazed that you found that online, Bill. I am really truly impressed Well since we don't have the spa...only the pool, it is a little confusing. Also, they did leave a "manual" but they say to refer to a separate card which gives the seconds to hold in an off position to get it to perform different programs. There are 4 or 5 different possibilities which say leave it off for 1 to 2 versus 3-5 seconds versus 6-9, etc. None of the "seconds" work. It does the same thing each time. There is a reason why I don't do mechanical things...because I CAN'T.

I just had our pool w/SAVI lights installed a few months ago. I'm going to try to see if I can help you here. Did I say try?

Anyway, you mentioned that you received a separate card for instructions. I did too. You can download a PDF copy of that card at http://www.nextstepproduct.com/SAVI/...gram_Guide.pdf. I might look a little different, but I believe it has identical information in it except for one minor detail that you might notice in timing, but it's not important for what you're trying to do.

I found it a little tricky at first, but with a little endurance I finally got it. Here's a step by step suggestion on how to go at it:

1) Use your light button to turn on the lights like it's explained at the top of the back side of the card.
2) After waiting 15-30 seconds it's time to start the programming.
3) Make sure you're using the same on/off light switch that you used to turn on the lights.
4) Now press and hold that switch for one and a half seconds by saying "One 1000 two" and release the button immediately after you say two. The light will now be off. Just press the on/off button again to turn the light on.
5) Did your light change to the next mode on your mode guide? If not try step 4 again. If it doesn't happen after numerous tries, you just might have something wrong and need to contact your salesman and explain everything you've gone through. They might have someone else get back to you, so you'll have to play that one by ear.
6) If you're successful in making the color mode change, repeat step 4 as many times as you need to get to the color mode you want. Just remember that you can only make one color mode change/advance at a time.
7) Once you have the color mode you want to use, press and hold the on/off switch for more than 10 seconds using the "one 1000 etc." method then release the button. The light will now be off. The next time you turn on your light it should be in the mode you just set it at.

Hope you get er done this time. Let us know how you make out!

What I am trying to do is get it to slowly go through all 5 colors where it blends from dark blue to light blue to green to white to pink back to dark blue. It only goes from dark blue to light blue to green.

It seems rather barbaric to have people counting to different numbers of seconds in a techno sophisticated and expensive piece of equipment, no? And it doesn't work. I can get the simple color change for a one color effect but when I try to do the amount of seconds for getting the program to change through all the colors on their own, it misses 2 of the colors.

Oh, as for the person asking about T&D. The pool building was very good. BUT we ran into a big problem with the original T&D service. My kids noticed it first and were saying how rough the bottom and sides of the pool were. My son ended up with a scrape on his nose. I was sitting on the beach area and realized I had dents in my bottom. Then one day, I was swimming and my foot moved along the side of the pool and I took a chunk, literally a chunk, off the bunion area of my foot. Even the dog didn't want to go in anymore I finally realized how bad it was when I went next door and put my foot in their pool and it was smooth. I called T&D and they were pretty surprised and were scheduling to have the entire pool sanded but one of the engineers who came to visit identified the problem as the chemicals were off and we had a build up of calcium. It was like little pieces of glass...the entire pool surface. Once they flushed all the chemicals out and put in the right ones, scrubbed the heck out of it, it was fine. So if you notice you are hurting when you go in your pool, it is the chemicals.

I love my pool light. Just turn the dial and dial in 12 different combinations or solid colors. It's a Pentair.

All Seasons Pools did mine.

This sounds like you're getting into mode #7 instead of 1 (smooth), 8 (Med. Fast) or 9 (Fast)... the ones that change like you are looking for.

I just went out to our pool and completely cycled through all 9 modes on my pool successfully using my improved instruction showing above. From you post it seems like you may be using the list numbers as the number of seconds to hold for. Wrong! I might be wrong, but if you follow my amended instructions above, you should be successful. Again, let us know how you make out!

Thanks for posting. Glad you're getting some action to get to the route of the problem. For now I'll disregard your PM!
