We saw this move while in TV on our life style visit. We loved it, but how can you go wrong with such a talented actor as Tom Hanks. We were also impressed with the theater we are looking forward to seeing many more movies once we move to TV.

If it were that simple, there would be no piracy. Did you consider the fact that as a pirate is climbing the ladder that there may be 2 or 3 pirates in the boat below shooting at anyone trying to attack the climber?

Yes, I did think of that. As the pirates were approaching from a distance they sprayed the side of the ship with bullets. But when they got close enough to hoist the ladder and hook it to the railing, they no longer would be able to see someone crouching down behind the railing. Can you picture that? A crew member could have been waiting with a two foot long pipe wrench or a pan of boiling hot water. Hit him with the wrench or throw the hot water in his face.

Instead, what was their plan? Hide in the boiler room? Not good.

Default Two thumbs up for Captain Phillips

Thoroughly enjoyed Captain Phillips. Tom Hanks will probably get an Academy Award nomination for this. It kept me riveted from beginning to end.
