We have been on 25+ cruises. Love to cruise and used to sell them. With that said, you need a travel agent for the first 2 cruises. Then keep researching on the internet. If you choose the wrong ship for your personality, no matter what the cost you will be miserable. Carnival is known for good prices and partying, but we have been on more sedate carnival ships and they have been enjoyable(we travel while school is in session). Again, see an agent for your first cruise, it is a great vacation if you choose correctly.

Just wanted to share with you guys some info on our travel agent over the years. She has saved us thousands of dollars in booked cruises thru her efforts to book us with group cruise pricing, tracking pricing daily and shifting reservations around to garner added on board credits. She is a Village resident who works from home and is associated with two different cruise agencies giving her the opportunity to find the best rates available. If your interested please email me @ skipcoleman@hotmail.com and I will gladly share her contact email and phone #. Skip 2 |

It is true that some travel agents can really help save money and secure advantages. In our last cruise to Tahiti we were able to get $1,500 in on board credit. Also if you book through the cruise line you may wait for a long time to get them on the phone while with a good travel agent you would get an immediate return call and they will work hard for you.

Also, the time of the cruse has an effect on the cost. Hurricane season you can get some great discounts. Actually, any risk is very minimal. Weather plotting is far superior to what it once was and those cruse ships are USUALLY fast enough to outrun a storm. OH AND IF IT GETS CHOPPY, THERE IS NO WAIT FOR MEALS OR SHOWS. |

It is true that you are pretty safe when it comes to weather and some passengers suffer from sea sickness so the food lines are less after a storm. We have been through gales, and really bad weather but other than watching yourself when you walk there are no problems. We do have a problem with the Carnival ships as they seem to be more of the younger set and party cruises. One cruise we had with Royal Caribbean it was during a "College Spring Break" and it was great watching them have fun.. Carnival just has a bad reputation for parties good bad or difference it is a perception.
