Haven't you learned why yet? This is "Florida's Friendliest Hometown" and the only people that have the power to slap someone's hand and not be concerned with losing their business are Law Enforcement Officer's. Any management to an establishment that caters to the public is not going to say anything to offend the egos of the "people that are legends in their own mind".

We have been to a couple shows at The Sharon and have experienced the same camera idiots. One reason they don't want you to use the camera is the show is copywrited and the performer doesn't want their performances compromised. The second is the distraction for others watching the show. When the phones or worse, the tablets, are held up, the people behind can't see. It's a matter of respect, for both the performers and the people that attend. When I have attended other shows in strongly managed venues, people that turn on a camera or tablet have been escorted from the venue. I have also been to performances where the act has stopped performing. I fear, that until The Sharon takes a strong management position the venue will not be the Performing Arts Center that was envisioned, but an extension of the Savannah Center and the squares where those that ignore the rules successfully will encourage more to do the same and the audiences will deteriorate in behavior. We already see people attending in torn jeans and tee shirts. It's up to management to determine what they want The Sharon to represent.......maybe they are ok with camera's and dress and rudeness, as long as they sell the tickets.

I've been waiting since 2007, but it's never happened.
Or perhaps the person being complained about is too embarrassed to post a defense.
I doubt they would own up to it.

GG, that's really hard to say without being in the moment. Even though they won't say anything, I probably would have found a manager so it would have been on record in case something happened. It's always been so easy to play "what if", but those days are behind me. I've never been one to scream and yell at someone; I can really get something done with my quiet, "get the point across" voice.

I disagree, plenty of managers have spoken to unruly guests.....that I have observed first hand.
Really has nothing to do with TV being "Florida's Friendliest Hometown".

This conversation is the main reason I stopped going to baseball, basketball, hockey and football games. its the same reason I stopped going to the movies and the same reason I stopped going to Performance Art Centers. Too many jerks. Who needs the hassle at those prices

A few weeks ago I went to see Jose feliciano at Savannah. Young kids were texting on their lap a few rows in front of us and the usher was right there to stop it. A few adults tried to take pics and film and ushers again were right there. I wonder why it is different at The Sharon.

Rubicon, I'm sorry you let these people ruin your enjoyment of these sports and performances. You let them win!

Personally, I would keep going to them but make sure I knew where to find an usher.

Funny you should mention about such a couple. We went to see the Temptations at the Sharon. No one in front of us. Half way through the show in walks a young woman about 6 ft tall. He was just as tall. She was one of those long haired girls that keeps flipping her whole head of hair from side to side. He could not keep his hands off her. He was rubbing her back, kissing her ear and neck. Cringe. Really?! Do you really need to do all this right here? Get a room. Oh BTW, senior mom and dad were sitting next to them. Kids came later. Wonder why. Hmmmm.....

Maybe you wished it was your neck that was being rubbed? You don't need a room for a neck rub.

My Aunt Jane said

there is a time and place for everything.

And my grandmother said

Don't make love at the garden gate.
Love is blind, but the neighbors ain't.

You have quite the family. Have you ever thought about writing a book of quotes? I'd buy it!

I thought the guy was going to punch out the other guy out it must have been the light from his phone that was distracting and in a way I could understand the guy getting upset. They did announce to put all away and maybe the guy was constantly filming. It was interesting for sure
