Everyone should go to the website to see what the requirements are for their particular situation. And I'm not quite 80 years old.

Boy did I get a good laugh out of this. I have never heard that story and I retired from a 40+ years in fire and law enforcement.

I agree with Gracie; it's probably because the kids are coming. Otherwise, why wouldn't they have been doing this during the rental season when traffic was so high?
Perhaps the radio announcement will cause the grandparents to stress to the grandkids to obey the law. Or stress to the parents to exert some control, since teens will forever be teens...

Stop?
Along the same lines --- back in the days of drag racing on Woodward Ave (Detroit) STOP meant:
S pin
T ires
O n
P avement

Drag racing
Woodward Ave was great. From Big Boys to Ted's Drive In--- wait for the light to change and hit the gas. I bet a few records were broken.

Joke -
Police officer pulls over a speeder. He approaches the vehicle and asked the driver, "didn't you see that 55 mph speed sign?" Yes I did sir, replies the speeder. I just didn't see you!

It makes perfect sense that enforcement would be severely heightened this past week and the next 2 weeks with the spring break and Easter coming. Excellent revenue generation atmosphere. I've seen a lot of cars speeding on Morse and Buena Vista but not much prescence of police. They could really rake it in .

I'm at a loss of for words. My statement implies a conspiracy on the part of law enforcement? I don't think so. I really do hope they crank down on speeders in the villages. I personally get tired of almost getting run down.

You really need to come to a complete stop? Ridiculous.
In fact many states have changed their laws to allowing "rolling stops". That is in no way driving unsafely.
Why don't we start talking about something important that actually does affect the safety of others. How about mandatory testing for drivers over 65? How many elderly drivers are out there that can't see or have poor reaction time?
|
65 not that old 85 maybe. older people as the same rights are people under 65. Maybe we need to put age limit on guitar playing cause over 50 can't cut it any more! same rational your 65 and over testing IMO>. One box don't fit all. that's why they have points deductions to we out the unsafe drivers when they get tickets.

How fast can we roll thru?
How about 75 MPH for Buena Vista and Morse as long as there are no cars around?
How long after the light turns red are we allowed to go thru?
How about 45 MPH for roundabouts if you are the only one in the circle?
Why not let small cars use the multi modal trails?
