I don't like the intersection at night. I was going east on Route 44 after dark and was making a left turn north onto Morse Blvd. I almost turned into the southbound lane of Morse - it was frightening. While this accident apparently took place during the day, I caution drivers to be especially vigilant at night because the lighting is not good there.

Well, I know for a fact that Mainelander enter RB in the left lane, swerve to the right lane, swerve back to the left lane all without signaling when going straight through (second exit) RB I guess in Maine it shorten the trip around the roundabout!!! I was in the right hand lane behind him knowing not to or try not to break the golden rule in RB; don't enter, pass through, or exit with vehicle beside you!

Some folks, thank God the Minority of friendly Villagers, cannot put aside their envy and jealosey of Snowbirds.. I was there in Sept.- Oct. this year and I never witnessed so many gates being broken in the eight years I owned here. It is such a petty response to a serious incident. Childish really!

IMHO, the intersections of 466a and either BV or Morse are POOR design. As stated above, left turn visibility is very poor, and at sunset, these are down right dangerous for West bound traffic. I have found if I go to the light with Pinellas place, left turn visibility is much better, and the tress provide some relief from the setting sun. This is about 1.5 miles out of my way, but much safer alternative.
Maybe if enough people complain to Sumter County, they might remove some of the foliage, move the left turn lanes further to the left, and alter the traffic signals.

That intersection, and others are too large and cars are turning right on red, in front of those left turning cars. That is what it looks like happened today. Slow down everyone and that would also help...
I beg to differ. One would have to wait for multiple cycles to make the turn under your suggestion. The problem lies in the lack of competence of some of our drivers.

Common sense has spoken.

I think that's a good idea, and also for the BV/466A intersection as well.

Cool

I think both of the intersections at 466a @ BV and Morse should be converted to roundabouts. That would alleviate the horrific crashes we experience at those locations.

Just my opinion....

The turn was a right hand turn and the car got broadsided-most likely cause in attention- guess this audience doesn't get gallows humor- with the density of the villages in constant flux- your driving habits can't remain constant-what you can get away during the low density times will bite you now. Also, like in every sport if you had a long time out-it will take a while to get back in the zone-Snowbirds will have to relearn the roundabouts and the idiocsynchrosies of driving in the villages all over.

I go through that intersection almost daily. For the last few weeks, it often takes three light changes to make the left turn. The turn lane backs onto 466a because so many cars are waiting. It might help if the left-turn light was longer to clear things out. I go that way since I choose to use Micro Racetrack road in order to avoid the roundabouts on Morse. Also use 301 instead of Buena Vista for the same reason.

envy and jealousy? of snowbirds? I would think the birds would be envious of the frogs who live here year round while the birds go back to their cold homes.

people paying attention when they drive would alleviate the crashes. It's not the road that causes these crashes at a standard intersection, it is poor driving skills.

It seems to be a trait of many.. It's always "them against us" whomever "they" might be.

I grew up in Brooklyn,NY had my business in suburban NJ-I honestly could no longer drive there like I used to. If suddenly had to live there again- I would be a hazard tillI learned the lay of the land and got used to the way the long time residents drive.
