McGrady’s has a “happy hour” from 3-5 pm when you can get domestic drafts for $3 bucks . And their glasses are a full pint. Don’t know if that applies on weekends.

Best price for beer is at Mallory. $8 (or so) for a pitcher $2 and some change for a glass.

Worst for beer prices are Fenney Grill and Havana where they get you for $15/$16 + for a pitcher.
Fenney Grille has the best cocktail hour, anything they have, liquor, wine, beer, is half price and you don't have to buy two and you don't have to drink that swill with a name you never heard of. I wish all restaurants were like that.

Yep , but happy hour (like McGrady’s ) is 3-5 pm. Otherwise you’ll pay what I quoted.

Our golf group goes to Fenney for lunch sometimes , well before happy hour !

Yikes. I’m the OP. I simply reported what happened factually. Please don’t say that I’m “bashing”. I play golf at least 3X week and have plenty to buy drinks after. I love ALL of TV. And love that the Developer is continuing the build full blast to the South. IMO more the merrier. Share the happiness no matter where in TV.

The developers are working hard to keep us all happy and happy we are with very few exceptions.
You're going to get your very own hospital?

COOL!

Wait, will those north of 44 be able to use it?

We also played yesterday and your assessment was spot on. The mosquitos were “huge” but were mainly near four or five holes and were in attack mode. There were so many around the water cooler and tee box on the Par 3 8th hole on the back nine that it was nearly impossible to tee off. And it sure felt like they were biting but we didn’t stick around to let them. Our golf cart and golf bags were covered with them from our brief stop at the tee box. The Pro shop was notified a week ago about this problem. They really need to at least address these impacted areas. Unfortunately, the 8th and 9th holes are very close to the golf front homes.

In my opinion, the southern areas of The Villages are marketed with smoke & mirrors. It's nothing like northern area and never will be. It doesn't look like The Villages, it doesn't "feel" like The Villages and the demographic is different.
Agree!

Only if you want to drive 30 minutes or so on average from the north but wait, you already have a hospital with the best emergency department in TV..

We like it this way. Looked around above 44, didn’t like it at all. To each their own.

Exactly. Where we moved from was out in the country. It was 20-30 minutes to ANYTHING. Here, I can get to a dozen or so grocery stores, two townsquares and a nearly unlimited amount of recreational activities in 20 minutes.

One nice thing about “down here” is that most of the people are still young and energetic. They’re also not snobs.

I still can’t wrap my mind around why so many people up north just can’t be happy that we’re happy. It’s just weird.

I agree completely with Ken, and the BS about not looking or feeling like the villages, we moved from the north part of the villages to the South area, enjoy it better down here, to each his own. I guess the north bashing of the south will never end. Enjoy life, and don't feel like you have to bad mouth what others are enjoying.

Correction, it’s quite possibly the absolute worst emergency department in the entire country.

You don’t know what you are talking about. There are about 7 golf courses under construction right now south of 44. Bet you weren’t even here when the northern area was under construction like the south is now.
