Default I am so lucky to have never been that mad...close but...

I dunno BTK. I have never held a gun or really seen one up close. We don't have a gun. My grandmother advised that love and hate can be really very close sometime and it is wise to not have a gun in the house. They do a LOT of damage very quickly.

99% of people who don't have a gun in the house feel/are safer without one.

(and I have experience with guns)

The other 99% of married couples who have a gun in the home are/feel safe because of it.....why change that for the 1% who might use a gun while wacko?

No..the rage does NOT go away. However, if the gun is there..it is most likely to be used in a domestic. If you feel safer with a gun while you travel, keep it in the safety deposit box and pull it out when you're ready to travel. Of course knives and scissors are used, but she was obviously out to kill. In the heart and twice in the torso. Probably when he was trying to escape out the window.

You've gotta wonder what goes through people's minds to make them shoot a gun into a fleeing victim. Specially a victim that you have spent your life with, made love to, produced children with and shared (hopefully) some wonderful times with.

We don't know the story, but it's sad. BTW, the gun didn't shoot him, she did.

Yes, one must wonder what would bring a person to pull a gun out and shoot their loved(?) one.

And you are right, she shot the gun. I've lived around guns my entire life and I've also been EXCEPTIONALLY peeved off at my loved ones. Not once has it ever crossed my mind to pull one of the guns out to harm them.

Come to think of it, the only time I've ever taken a gun out to use was when I was target practicing.

Default Controller

It was reported that she had reached her wits end because of his domineering and controlling and she reportedly said that she just couldn't take any more. I have seen this first hand in others, as well as experienced it myself. Shooting, etc. is not an answer, but divorce can most certainly be.

Unfortunately, some of the contolling/domineering can get really dangerous for the party leaving or even trying to leave or attempting to get help for the situation. This is why many times couples perceived to be "ideal" are such a shock to everyone when something drastic or tragic happens.

I was asked to edit this for clarification as to the statement I made that it was "reported" that she could no longer endure his control and being "always on her case".

I saw it reported on a newscast, Channel 9 to be specific. It is also on Channel 9 and Channel 6 websites.

The whole point of this post is to say that others really don't know why this happened as it did and that we have no right to judge her at this point. Did she handle it the best way? Absolutely not! I just wonder what the comments would be if she had shot herself instead to change her situation or her perception of it.

My dad had a great philosophy: To quote him, "I never did see a board that didn't have two sides."

I don't mean to offend anyone, but would just like for everyone to withhold judgements of either of them. We didn't live there...they did.

Default Let me see if I understand.....

The problem is - She is the “victim” because she’s controlled by him?

....... and/or

The problem is - There is a gun in the house crying out to be used?

Let’s get real here……. We all have free will.

The sooner society realizes that we all have to live with the consequences of our actions, the better off we will be as a society.
