Default More stores

Thanks everyone. To those that gave short cut directions, I jotted them down so I can explore. We will be in TV as FROGS, so I expect that through the years 466a will be built up. Between now and then, I have a plenty to do close to home so I'll just wait it out!

Default Library

I was hoping the cart path to the new library would run alongside 466A. After seeing the recent dirt moving and cart paths I don't feel they can run a cart path from Buena Vista to the library beside 466A.

Here is a thread about development of the Northwest Corner of Buena Vista & 466A.

Trailwinds Village

Looks like substantial commercial development is possible - it would be great!

Thanks for the tip - good info!!

Honestly, for all the times we've been through Leesburg over the course of time, I never realized there was a WalMart there until we were in TV last month! Drove by there many times - just never noticed it.

AND that Walmart has different " stuff" than the two inside the confines of TV. When we first moved here I was able to get some decent art supplies there that weren't carried in the other two. That may have changed.

Your hopes will be realized, and a cart path will be built.
This has been noted and confirmed on this site more than once.

Bill, if I told you once I told you a thousand times, you gotta stop wearing those horse blinders while driving!

Ha! Most people actually attribute it to my tendency towards "Cranial Rectal Inversion"........

I'm on the same page as Penguin. I like the nice quiet hometown feel.

Oh, goody. Here's another place to reminisce about how things were back in '05.

When I needed things like a tv, new linens, and such, I was told "You've got to go Ocala for that stuff!" Horrible!

Now, every thing is right here!

I understand Happinow's concerns, though. One just has to bite the bullet. Oh, and avoid driving around when everybody's here!

I hope they don't build closer which brings traffic. I'd rather drive a little longer and farther than have this area turned into the congestion they have up north. I too was used to 5-7 minutes to shopping, most of it setting at red lights.
The post that said to take Micro Race Track road was right on. It's a beautiful ride in the country where you actually see cows and horses and almost no traffic. In a couple minutes you'll cross 466 and be to 441 shortly to the congestion and shopping.

Take 466a heading east from Colony, turn right on 25/Dixie Ave at the light just after the Fruitland Park Post Office. Follow that for several miles and turn left when you get to a stop sign. That road goes around the north side of the Walmart parking lot. (Check out a map/GPS to be sure)

There's also an Aldis and Dollar Store in the strip center just south of Walmart.
yup, I've gone that way! They actually have a fabric department at that Walmart!

I believe the area around 466A and Morse or the Brownwood 44A area will attract big box retailers as soon as they believe it is financially advantageous to locate there. As this area fills in with residents the need and the pay-off will be there for the retailers.

I agree but I just hope they are not too close to the houses. Also pay attention to that large track of land, over 900 acres, that is for sale on the south side of 466A just over the Sumter/Lake line in Lake County.

The Morse people, if you can believe them, said 2 years ago that they were not going to buy any more land.
