You would think after being here a week you would realize that every cart path crossing has a gate and expect there to be one blended in or not. I also have never seen landscaping with stripes.

You can also notice the shacks and white boxes at the entrances. It is difficult for those to blend into landscaping, traffic lights, or tail lights. If you happen to find an entrance that does not have a gate - congratulations! Take note of where it is and remember that you don't need to stop at *that* entrance. But for all others, expect a gate, look for a gate, and stop until you see that the gate is not blocking your way.

I understand crime completely, but not manning gates and just hitting a button to get in makes zero sense. First of all, your reply makes no sense. I said I was for gates. I like the concept of gates. I like the protection from gates. BUT not gates that ANYONE can push a button to get through. What’s the point at that moment? Why have a gate at that point? Is it to just make villagers “feel safe”? It’s ridiculous. Period.

Most gated communities have cameras focused on their gates which record licenses of cars that break gates in their communities and send these register cars owners a bill for the repairs which must pay or go to court that has worked very well.

First of all, I see it as safety for the community, not for golf carts. The gates are on the entrance roads where golf carts need to “yield”. This has nothing to do with golf carts. Maybe put a path around for golf carts if your worried about the danger of golf cart safety.

Hello?! I’m definitely not for speed bumps! I’m for having people at the little gate buildings to verify people who don’t have their electronic gate card. Period!

In 2010 when we first came down it was security or it felt like it was for security. I don’t disagree that traffic control could also be a reason. I know one of the gates that I find to be a PITA is the gate on Del Mar. Traffic tends to back up there because it’s a 4-way stop and people are lined up to get thru the gate. People need to relax. I don’t just mean retirees either.

That upgrade is coming. Be careful what you wish for.

They still have to cross the road. Would you suggest it's safer for them to cross somewhere where there is no gate to slow down traffic? Oh, and it has EVERYTHING to do with golf carts...

Although the camera taking pics as you leave could help with security...
