You make it sound like people from all over the state will be descending on us. Maybe when the word gets out people will start exiting the Florida Turnpike and use it to get to I95 faster! Let's keep this in perspective. The only people interested in using this route will be the residents in that area and the people who service them. Don't forget, we're taking about after the construction is complete.

If what you say is true, and I'm not convinced it is, an electric gate that will only work with a TV card would solve the problem. Even better yet, TV could issue a special card for only residents who live in the SW corner of TV.
Say, what about me. I go to the Ace Hardware in Wildwood, I want to use the shortcut too. After all I am a Villager.....but do not live in the SW corner.

It's a remote country road (472) turning off of 301 -- directly comparable to what you will have at 462 (which is being expanded). If you don't believe me about the traffic come and sit by the road for a few minutes (day or night).
I have never heard that before, When we orginally started Buena Vista South of 466 and tore up the old CR-113 I believe it was, we knew then that 472 would be the connector for Buena Vista and 301. That was never going to be closed. 472 has always had traffic. 462 will always have Traffic. 462 wil be expanded to 4 lane also from the prints I have seen. Just of matter of getting the approval from the Higher Ones.

Yes there was a const entrance behind Colony Plaza at one time and it was closed, but the was installed as a temporary relief to keep const traffic off odell circle. The entrance off 462 has been there for 8 years. has always been for construction traffic only. That is why the signs are there. But it will be closed after that area is built up more.

Try it for yourself, if this fails just press the button and you will have the same result. Don't wish for something that will cause entry for excess traffic as well as potential law breakers. Just my opinion.........

All you have to do to open a gate is pull up to any resident gate and wait anywhere from 10 to 30 seconds and the gate will go up without using your card. If it is raining don't put your window down and get wet just pull up and wait 10 to 30 seconds and the gate will go up. If you look at the asphault by the stand where you wave your card you will see cuts in the asphault under where your car would be when your car is over these it will trigger the gate to open.

I never use my card if it is raining and at times when it is very hot and no one is behind me I just wait the 10 seconds. The gate that I use takes 10 seconds to open without using a card. In that 10 seconds at times I can't get to my card and put my window down and wave it so why bother? It will take longer on the guest side but on the residents side it is quicker.

Try it and see how long it takes yours to open.

Those would be good compromises for us bicyclists, but they're 'not gonna do it'

Can anyone imagine having the homes on the road leading to that portal?

We own some property on 462 and it will be a MAJOR thoroughfare from 301 to Brownwood, a truck route we were told, too, with the industry growing up near the tracks.

Brownwood will be the most popular new place for outsiders, and close to Wildwood, and motorists who want to avoid the WW congestion will come down 301 and cut over on 462.

FYI:
We're flying down for the BIG PUBLIC HEARING October 13 in Wildwood, 7:30 PM to help determine public opinion on CR 462

It's in Wildwood just off 466A at their community center

See you there!

L and L
Would you be able to provide us with out outcome of the public hearing held on Oct. 13 in Wildwood regarding CR 462. Was there any mention of the short cut remaining open after construction?

You don't need to open your window to use your card!
