It will be the center until down the road it is not.

If it wasn’t the current developer it would be someone else based on TV success.

Exactly - this land will get developed one way or another - I personally would rather that land come under the “control” and ownership of TV. The empty land between TV and Clermont will all be “gobbled up” and developed in the next decade, and we will become a far northern suburb of Greater Orlando. It’s inevitable. I’m excited for the future of TV.

With over 10,000 people retiring per day the development is sustainable and pumping over a billion dollars a year into the local economy. This created continuous high paying skilled jobs for thousands of workers for over twenty years. It's not common to meet families that have multiple generations working in Villages construction all their lives. The property tax base is also increasing over a billion dollars a year. Apparently enough last year that will result in a tax reduction this year. Middleton with the schools is brilliant for many reasons and bringing a diverse demographic mix to the market. This will likely open new commercial opportunities. It will be interesting to watch and see if they continue family housing development. |

So many Villagers are flipping out over the fact that The Villages is growing and expanding. While it is not what it used to be, consider this… so many cities and communities across our country are facing the opposite problem. Their communities are dying. People are moving out, therefore businesses are shutting down, new business won’t come, property values have plummeted. They are scrambling in desperation to save what they have left. An expansion like The Villages would be their epiphany. It’s another way to look at our rapid expansion.

It does make you wonder when The Villages will be large enough for their first throughway. It’s certainly getting close in size and scope. I’m sure those whom it effect will raise Cain. But hey, you can’t have traffic glutting forever.

I believe Eastport, Central Lake, Torch Lake, Grand Traverse, Brownwood, Antrim, Atwood, etc are a nod to the area in Michigan where the family originates.

I worked at one of the sales offices and saw a map of the land they have purchased to the south. It goes past Bushnell almost to Webster. They said it would allow them to build for another 25 years. Not a stretch to say Central Parkway could be the center of The Villages someday.

Up north malls and large department stores are closing left and right due to th surge in shop by phone houses such as Amazon as well as less merchandise being stocked on store shelves in lieu of phone orders from websites. Wonder if this might eventually put a damper on some of the anchor stores anticipated in the villages present and future

My point, new or established, it just won’t matter. Unless you are dealing with food items or the discounted inventory environment, you likely will die on the commercial vine.
