Many in the new area are in no great hurry to be invaded by the multitude coming from the north. They seem to wine the least on connection.

I plan on live streaming an elevated view of the move when it happens. The link for the live streaming is below. You'll also be able to go direct to my YouTube page to access the feed.

Gold Wingnut Live Stream - Chitty Chatty Bridge Move - YouTube

If this one goes like the Brownwood bridge move the entire move will take about 15-20 minutes to put the bridge in place. After the move is complete I'll post a time-lapse view of the move on YouTube.

If the move doesn't happen tomorrow evening I'll reschedule the feed for the next day and repeat as necessary until the move occurs. (Second hand information this morning is telling me Thursday for the move, but I'll keep a watch every day.)
That would be great to see. Everyone needs to remember that it won't be functional for a long time. How long has the Brownwood bridge been in place yet there are no ramps to it. Rumors abound about end of 2020 opening. I'll believe it when I actually see the first carts go across.

Guess the carts would be a confirming sign.

Obviously this is not happening tonight.

I went by at about 5 PM and the bridge has been raised about 10 ft in preparation for the jacks to be placed on the trucks under the bridge. This allows lifting to remove the current ground supports and lifting into place over the roadway. The jacks are still sitting to the side.

Some second hand information I received earlier today was that it would be Thursday for the move. I'll keep checking every day. The real indicator is when the road signs change to "Road closed at 9:00PM tonight".

Doubtful, there will be some fool who tries to cross before it's open. The Brownwood bridge has already had people trying to walk across it. When the Water Lily bridge goes over I'm sure they're going to have lots of problems stopping people for trying to cross.

I'm not a naysayer or a gloom and doom type of person, this is just the result of my observations over the last 6 years of the acts of some of the people that have come to live here. If the sign says "Wet Paint" you're guaranteed to have hand prints on it in an hour.

Never believe a salesman. They are being paid by the developer. They will say what they need to to make a sale. They also are only giving the information that was given to them.

I wonder how long it will sit with no ramps built up to it and no actual connection to paths going south, especially going all the way south and over the turnpike. But then, I'm still wondering the same about the bridge by Brownwood. I'm looking forward to both because I think they (especially the Brownwood bridge) will allow for some scenic golf cart and bicycle rides south.

I know I could do southern trips on my bicycle but I've gotten so I do NOT like riding out in car traffic.Golf cart traffic on the multi-modal paths is scary enough but cars can and do go a LOT faster and are a LOT heavier.

For safety reasons, it seems unlikely the bridge will open before construction adjacent to the connecting paths in those villages are substantially complete.

Why does anyone who does not live there care? Many of us don't care about the bridges. We love living in our wonderful community. We understand that bridges allow traffic both ways. That's what I told the Morses the last time I had dinner with them. "Slow down, take your time", I said.

People need to be concerned about things that actually affects them. Geez, somepeople like to go find something to complain about.

MANY, many of the Villagers are what I would call “Professional Whiners” ...... if they’re not complaining about a “rebate” on amenity fees , it’s complaining about dogs pooping at the postal stations , or complaining about the pools not open , or complaining about what side of the multimodal path we should be walking on ....... <taking a breath >..... or complaining about the pickleball courses closed Or complaining about the condition of the golf courses or someone not wearing a mask or about the modest tax increase while not taking into consideration that the tax rate had not increased in 14 years or that they can’t get a tee time this week or ......

please feel free to fill in the rest of the blanks ......I’m sure I’ve missed another dozen or so complaints......
