It came back UNLESS you have X1 (at least for me). I was able to watch my HD DTA connected TV but no X1 connected TVs. My X1 DVR recorded programs last night, but as Villagetinker points out we could not use the DVR using the remote.

Look at the difference disputing a charge at American Express or Bank of America. American Express treats you as if you were family. Bank of America treats you like family, they transfer you four or five times and I swear its true, the last rep burped during the phone call, they are allowed to go forward without getting their act together just like Comcast. Are they allowed to have an outage? Certainly, but respect your customers or you won't have them.

Nucky - Concast is the worst service provider on the face of the earth. They have been terrible wherever we used them. When we first moved to TV we signed up for Concast because we were told they were the only provider in our area. (I learned that was not the case later.). During the first year we had the typical Concast issues, and averaged at least one day per month of down time. One Sunday afternoon we lost cable, Internet and our phone. Concast said it would be fixed by midnight. Monday morning we still had absolutely no service. I called Concast again. Got dropped/hung up on twice. On the third call I as told that they would send a tech out on Thursday afternoon. I explained we had no phone, Internet, or cable. They basically said "tough" and I would get a tech when they said so. This after spending almost 5 hours on the phone as I was bounced from one call center to another across the globe.

I called BrightHouse and had new phone, Internet, and cable Monday late afternoon - that same day that Concast said it would take them 3 more days to get to our problems. No contract, no muss, no fuss. Wonderful phone support and quick tech support when needed. I'm satisfied and recommend them highly.

When I called Concast to cancel their services, after BrightHouse was fully functional, Concast wanted to know why I was dissatisfied with their service. When I told them they had no response. So, my mantra is, if you use Concast, you deserve Concast. They are consistently a provider of inadequately poor service no matter where we have used them throughout the US. If you don't have access to an alternative cable provider, like BrightHouse, use Dish or Direct TV. Use anything but Concast.

Just pretend it's 1969, and put up a TV antenna. Why worry - bring back the "good old days" before internet and 400 cable channels. All cable companies (including Comcast) can be a PITA at times, and should be giving you more choices and credits when they can't provide service. Unfortunately, there are only so many wires connected to your house, so competition is restricted. Sooner or later, everything will be sent via satellite or over-the-air, and then we will have real competition and better choices and service.

I will be having a follow-up call about this whole situation and suitable compensation.
Our DVR worked...as it has in the past outage.

Do you have the older DVR or the new X1 system? The reason I ask is that Comcast specifically told me the X1 DVR would not work without internet access.
Thank you

I agree with you. I've been here on TOTV for a while now and the fact that this so called company Con cast can get dbussone and Villagetinker worked up say's it all. Con cast sucks. During the bad weather here in Jorsey I have television with Direct and all my neighbors loose service with Con cast but they hang with them because its a couple of dollars cheaper????

I am your local sales rep, if you are interested in finding out more information feel free to call or email me for more information.

I left you an email asking if you would extend the special pricing we've had the past two years. No response yet, been 9 days. So I'll be going elsewhere. As far as I'm concerned, getting a low price by moving around is worth the inconvenience. After all, most of us are on a fixed income.

Been a Brighthouse customer for 10 yrs. but after the first year you have to watch your bill because it can change monthly. When you call them you are told that your promotion ended. They gave me a $5.00 a month credit but 2 months later bill went up $18.00. I finally cancelled and put an antenna in the attic.

This may be an unfounded rumor, but I heard someone say that the outage even included Atlanta.

If so that scares me. Is some outside foreign bunch testing to see if they can throw us sideways?

Please some responsible person say it wasn't that widespread..................and tell me I what I heard was wrong.

I don't know if ATL is impacted, but this outage map makes it appear like much of the East Coast has problems, along with most of FL.
