I have to chuckle....or be depressed. I can't believe the weather we are having! We moved from NY for the sunshine and warmth. Well, we got half of it. It seems since we've been here it's rained so much. we were so looking forward to enjoy the outdoors and now we are stuck inside. And for all of the golfers and outdoorsmen it stinks too. I sure hope we didn't bring the bad weather down with us. I guess it's a fine time to watch movies and eat popcorn. What's your favorite thing to do when the weather is like this? Movies, games, crafts or taking a nice long nap?

We went sooooooooooooo long without any rain that I find it quite pleasant. Not too keen on the tornado watch til 8pm in Sumter County, but the rainy day is welcome. Now if this is still going on on Tuesday I'll change my story. AND the dog is not too thrilled!

Me? I'd be out on the lanai with my kindle and a cocktail! If only I were there!

This is the rainy season. It is cozy and sweet to have downtime with my cabinmates. I cooked a nice supper.

Default Hurricane Season

What's with this weather is hurricane season started June 1 and Tropical Storm Debby is almost due west of us out in the Gulf. We've been under a tornado watch and flood watch since earlier today. Debby is moving real slow so it will probably be like this for the next day or two.

The rainy season is when we get some afternoon thundershowers. Today is tropical weather. Interesting fact when Debby formed yesterday. This is the earliest ever for the "D" named storm. The previous record was 2005 when Dennis formed on July 4 and eventually became a cat 3 storm. If you'll remember, 2005 was the year of 27 named storms, one of which was Katrina. They ran out of names and had to go to the Greek alphabet.

It's always a good idea to monitor the tropical weather if it could possibly affect you.

Just be thankful you are not vacationing with the kids and stuck in an expensive hotel watching tv and eating in overpriced restaurants thinking about what you are missing at the theme parks for $80-90 P/P for a day

You can imagine how nervous we are, because we are in the middle of getting insurance quotes. Have heard horror stories about companies not writing new policies when a storm threatens. I think we have one, but are keeping our fingers crossed until we actually send the check! I would become very sick if our closing was delayed because we couldn't get insurance.

After you go thru 2-3 months with little or no rain, the golf courses dry up, your yard turns brown and your plants wilt................you will learn to appreciate the rain.

Yes, it can be a little much but the lakes and ponds are filling back up and the irrigation system does come on. And the AC doesn't run as much. Rain has it's good points.

I'm loving having the opportunity to get things done at home. When that sun is shining (which is most of the time) I just have to answer the call and leave home. Today I did lots of tune ups on my ipod, ipad, kindle and pc while sitting on my glassed in and dry lanai. The only thing missing is a warm Duffydog on my lap.
