Terrible experience with Safelite. Contacted them about windshield replacement. Said they would order one. 3 weeks later they texted me a date and continued to text me daily to remind me how important it was to be on time. Finally on appointed day I arrived 15 minutes early and I’m to,d my windshield didn’t arrive. I said why was I texted so many times and they said those are automated and they have no control. So couldn’t you call me to cancel my appointment? Here’s the kicker! Our windshields arrive after we’re closed at night and we don’t know what came in until we come in in the morning. I said can’t you check the computer and was told their computer can’t access the delivery computer. That was it cancelled them and went with Community Collision In Leesburg. Had my car done in three days.

I've used Safelite twice, once for a lot of stone pits, another for a crack. No charge.

Last year I had same problem & contacted Orange Blossom Auto Glass. They did adequate job, but later found they had billed insurer 2 or 3 times what the repair should have cost. Contact insurer first & they will refer you to a shop.

I had a great experience with Safelite in Leesburg. They were open on Sunday morning, we were the first appointment, in and out in two hours, including recalibrating the cameras. No charge. Nice waiting room with refreshments.

I've had bad experience with Safellite too. If you call your insurance company they will most likely give you the phone number for Safelite Solutions which obviously is a subsidiary of Safelite Glass. I needed a replacement, not an epoxy patch, and they ordered it 3 times, each time was a problem. They kept me hanging for weeks and weeks. I finally asked Safelite Solutions for another glass company. They reluctantly agreed. Can't remember the name but they came out of Tampa within a week and replaced my side glass in my driveway. Windshields are usually covered in full, side or rear glass usually have a deductible. Turns out that the after market glass company that Safelite uses was out of stock of my window in the US and Saflite did not want to obtain an OEM part. They make less profit if they use OEM. So they kept stringing me along with "wrong part received", "part was damaged in shipment", "part was lost in transit", etc.
If your glass was tinted, you now have a second problem. Glass companies don't do tinting. Insurance companies will tell you the tint is not covered. THAT IS NOT TRUE. There is no exclusion in your policy that says tinted glass is not covered.
My experience: Stay away from Safelite. They lie to customers. Our friend had a better experience with windshield replacement but was coaxed into buying windshield wiper lifetime coverage. What's up with that? They got money out of her. Pure UPSELL.

Hope this helps.

Safelite replaced 2 windshields in different cars at my house. New windshields are great, there was no charge to me and there was no change to my insurance bill.

I've used Safelight 3 times. Once for a windshield replacement, twice for chips.

All 3 times, everything went smooth as glass () and my insurance (Geico) paid the bill...

My experience with safelight wasn't so good. Had an older car and they came out and removed the old windshield and found rust and said they won't replace the windshield and left me with a car at my house with no front glass! I sanded the rust and painted and they still wouldn't put in a new windshield. Meanwhile they were the ones a number years ago the previously replaced the windshield and must not have sealed it well to not have it rust. Another company came out and replaced it no problem.

A lot of the window tinting is excessive and is illegal. Insurance policies will not pay for any repair or replacement of illegal equipment. So depending on the level of tinting, it may not be covered.

I've not checked but I suspect SAFELIGHT SOLUTIONS is not SAFELIGHT GLASS. If sounds like someone is attempting to STEAL someone else's advertising and reputation.

They are both part of the same company.

Safelight Fulfillment, inc Is the retail auto glass division of Safelite specializes in replacing all types of vehicle glass damage. In addition to replacement services, the company operates a team of repair specialists dedicated to delivering high quality windshield repairs.

Safelight Solutions LLC provides complete claims management solutions for the nation's leading fleet and insurance companies.

So, one is the hands on repair/replacement division and the other handles the claims paperwork...

I don't know how large the crack is, but I had a stone impact my windshield, the damage was about the size of a dime along with some spider cracks around it. I ordered a windshield repair kit from amazon, about $15.00. The repair eliminated about 95% of the damaged area, and still holding for about 18 months now.
