This whole thread fascinates me! I've watched the marketing of homes in TV for more than 5 years and am constantly amazed at the weird and wild changes that happen, seemingly without even the slightest forward-thinking!
I'm guessing that, if the bottom line is enhanced, then who gives a d*** whether a strategy makes sense or not? I stayed in a Lakeside Cottage on a Lifestyle Preview ages and ages ago. It was a nice place, but, to me, not worth anywhere near the exorbitant prices being asked now, even when furnished. The furnishings are "tired" and out-dated, even then (late 2005). The place I stayed in for a week had three separate lanais/porches, which was fun, but NONE of them was screened, an absolute necessity here, I think. I am surprised that the Creekside Landing places seem to be on the market. I had assumed (you all know that that's something you should never do!) that those properties would be Lifestyle Preview places forever. The new stuff going in across the street ("Edgewater Bungalows," I think) may replace the buildings in Creekside Landing for previews, but I'm betting will fairly soon also be sold! No one can ever say that The Villages is dull! SWR

Just as the location for TV sales offices has continued to move South
along with the progress of building out the surrounding area they are located in....so to have the Lifestyle accomodations....and they will move South as well.
The new models on display follow as well. Have you seen the new sales center across from the shopping center on 466A? Ditto TV Commercial properties area....etc....etc. No mystery the ones adjacent to Lake Sumter are being made available. btk |

Following that logic, we can expect to see a bunch of new cottages/cabanas/cabins built somewhere close to Brownwood and to the new Villages under development. I think the Marketing people learned from building the expensive Lakeside Cottages that they should concentrate on less expensive lifestyle accommodation which will be easy to sell off.

Gracie, this was our second trip to TV. The first trip we stayed in a hotel and our experience was not that great. Our marketing rep drove us back and forth from one end of TV to the other. My husband who likes to look at the map and know where we are was very confused. We were both car sick by the end of our journey and were thinking TV might not be for us. Looking back, we spent to much time looking at property instead of enjoying the lifestyle. One of our friends had the same experience and suggested we come back for the lifestyle program. They did this and bought. Soooo, we did. We only spent a couple hours looking at property each day and our marketing rep spent the time in either the north or south end of TV (giving us time to play and enjoy the experience). That is when we fell in love with TV and the cabana we were in! Being a realtor myself, the way TV markets their properties and the lifestyle is amazing! They definitely know what they are doing. By experiencing the lifestyle, we could actually envision living in TV. We are originally from Michigan, and felt very comfortable with the people very quickly. It just felt like home the second time around. We love the ambiance, the active lifestyle, how clean everything is and actually how affordable TV is. With the economy the way it is we were concerned if we could live comfortably in TV. Thank you for all of your help and advice on TOTV. This website also influence our decision. My husband and I kept thinking we missed something on our first visit because everyone spoke so highly on this site...and actually we did. I'm so glad I continued to get on this site and talk with all of you! Thanks Again for helping to change our lives!

I like you for a lot of reasons but most recently because you didn't mind I spelled ambiance wrong. I corrected it when I saw yours. BE VERRRRY CAREFUL. There are a lot of ENGLISH MAJORS around here. Other than that is is perfect!! |

You're undoubtedly right! When one really studies what happens here, it is more or less clear that the marketing expertise is something else! And, I'm of the modest opinion that someone's out there thinking of ways to generate more conversations on TOTV! SWR P.S.: Aren't you about to come south?????????????????
