Thanks for the replies! Before I read them, I went shopping for a rod and all the needed accessories and came home empty handed. Couldn't even make a decision about the diameter of the rod! After reading these posts, I think I will go with the cornice board. They may not be as popular as they have been in the past, but I do like them and think that they give the look I want. Thanks again for the "encouragement''. Pat

Sue - beautiful job on the cornice board!! I will have to check out JoAnn's. Sure wish I knew they had the kits before I had mine professionally done! That being said, Star - I am very pleased with what JC Penney did for my triple panel glass slider, and single window on another wall in my great room. I have a verti-glide shade on the slider, and faux wood blinds on the other. Took me over 4 years to finally figure out what to do, and when someone recommended Penney's, I was very glad. They did a great job. Actually, I have no confidence whatsofever in that area, and their decorator picked out a couple of matching fabrics and we held them up and the one we chose was just perfect. I could never have done it on my own; the decorator was such a help.
![]() Good luck with your shopping and decision making!

The comforter is about 10 years old, and I bought it at Target when it was being discontinued, so don't think you will have a chance of finding it again. The lamp I bought at Beall's outlet when we got down here. I have a rule about not spending over $30 for a lamp! Bought every lamp in my house for under $30.
another Linda - this is not a CYV, but the closet is to the left of the bed. It's a small bedroom, but it does fit a queen size bed, and one dresser with the night stand. There was enough room for another night stand, but we only had the one anyway. There is only the one small window in that bedroom, so I wanted to give it a little more emphasis and that is why I decided to use the cornice board and move it up some on the wall to make the window look bigger.

Here are a few pics of the curtains I did for our doorwall and baywindow. Just another option instead of the blinds:

I like these a lot. I just used the teal beige taupe version of this plaid check material in my home here in Cincinnati. I love to add fabric to the window. It softens the room. I like that you used the grommets...very new and very nice!

I too have heard that cornice boards are out. However, the decorators on HGTV seem to be making many of them. If they are in enough for HGTV, they are in enough for me. I just bought material to make a cornice over my sliders in my gardinia great room. I need the color on that wall and I need the softness. Sue you really do great work!
