Default Bug name

Bug has a long Japanese name but maybe a carrier for Chaga's Disease, a sleeping disease. Get rid of bug, call a professional pest control person.

But if you have a dozen around (and in) your house, you probably are infested. Indoor pesticides usually don't kill them. Outdoor pesticides usually do. If you just see the one, you could leave it be, it won't hurt you - they don't sting or bite.

The "foul odor" they emit is actually similar to cilantro. And the human perception to the odor is also similar: some people find it horribly offensive, other people aren't affected by it at all.
I haven’t seen any stink bugs in my home here or around it, but I used to get them in my home in Pennsylvania. Once one landed in my water glass beside the sink in my bathroom. In the middle of the night I gulped down a fresh glass of water and got a stink bug in my mouth, which I crunched! Instant overwhelming flavor of cilantro. I think of stink bugs now every time I eat cilantro in Mexican food.

My favorite way of catching and disposing of them was to use a BugZooka. It sucks up the bug and holds it for later disposal. The stink doesn’t stink in the tube of the BugZooka. Also works for bees and wasps, spiders, lady bugs, etc. no motor or batteries. Just suction.

For stink bugs, I just hold my hand out and nudge it to crawl on my finger, then carry it outside and let it fly away.

Armor bug IS a stinkbug.

There are other armored bugs, but only a stink bug looks like a stink bug. If you look at it from overhead, it looks like a medieval shield with legs attached.

This is an assassin bug. They are great for getting rid of (feasting on) the bad bugs around your home but they have an excruciatingly painful bite to humans.

I had one on my garage screen yesterday. Looks like a stink bug. Harmless, but if you squish it you will know how it got it’s name.
