Default Dog walkers friendly

On our walk this morning we noticed a neighbor that had a water bowl and a container with treats out by the side of the road.

With summer coming up this is a great idea! Summer is very hard on small dogs walking on or near pavement, if more people put out water it would be nice.

When I we got home I put a water bowl out front and a sealed container with treats and poop bags in it.

Nobody gives me treats when I walk around the neighborhood.

Sure was nice of them. But the fact remains that YOUR dog is YOUR responsibility. No dog owner (I used to be one) should expect others to provide for their dog. Being a good and responsible dog owner means protecting and providing your dog. Don't expect neighbors to provide food, water, toilet facilities (that means "keep off the neighbors grass, no excuses!"), etc. When you got a dog (or any pet) you and you alone became responsible for it, 100% of the time.

Kudos to you. What a rarity you are!

It's nice to read something favorable regarding dogs as opposed to poop and pee, get off my grass, and how terrible it is to see a dog in a store.

Just get a stroller for your dog like the rest of the Villagers.

Not favorable about dogs. Favorable about people doing something nice for dogs.

Wow, just WOW!

I don't know how we got from a nice thing to do - considerate and friendly to that. I feel very sorry for you.

Thank you, I wish I could take credit for the idea, but I was just following another neighbors lead.

Your comment speaks volumes about the kind of dog owner you were.
The comment to which you refer has nothing to do with being a responsible dog owner.

It does have to do with being kind and considerate and a nice person.

"When you 'got' (sic) a dog . . ." Yeah, right. I get it 100%!

Isn't amazing that someone is appraciative of anothers post that is negative? Makes me sad that lives are lived with this kind of anger.
